Hallows Die - Interview
In this new occasion we have the great opportunity to interview the Death Metal/Deathcore band Hallows Die from Canada, here we will let you their FACEBOOK PAGE to give them a like and follow them.We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
It kind of just happened. The name is a byproduct of too many drinks and an intense conversation regarding death according to certain belief systems.
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
Despite all of us having pretty eclectic tastes in music we’re all pretty die hard metal heads at the core. It only made sense that we crank the volume up to 10 and piss of our neighbors.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Funny enough no. I had met Pat once in passing ages ago but we never really spoke to each other until we were introduced through mutual friends for the purpose of starting a project.
4. Each band member favorite band?
Ryan: Aborted
Pat: Pantera
Gabe: Obscura
Dylan: Opeth
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
We generally write songs based social issues and ideas that we turn into stories. However, lately we’re starting to lean more toward conceptual based albums. Our inspiration generally comes from observing the world and being critical of certain morals and situation.
6. Where was your last gig?
We just recently played the Sudbury Metal Feast supporting Beyond Creation. Check er out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPjO4mqQ1l4
7. Where would you like to act?
Anywhere people will listen.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
The list is way too long to mention. Our list of influences also spans way outside heavy metal. Within the genre Opeth would probably be collectively our top band to tour with.
9. Whom not?
Can’t really say there are a lot of bands we wouldn’t tour with. We’ve actually had some pretty mixed shows and they’ve all turned out for the best. Despite being of the more extreme genre we do have elements that acts outside the genre can relate to.
10. Have any of you ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
I personally suffer from it every time we go on stage. I always get some serious nervous shakes about 5 minutes before we hit the stage. The other guys all handle it like champs.
Best thing I’d say is to keep kind of active, do some warm ups (jumping jacks, stretches etc). I find the best thing is to turn on some tunes that really get your blood pumping. It turns the nervous energy into good performance energy. My go to is Blast Tyrant by Clutch.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Ryan: I’m all over the map. I’m always searching out new bands and trying to draw some sort of inspiration from them. I’m constantly trying to emulate new stuff.
Gabe: Rush, Metallica, Opeth. Bar none.
Pat: Pantera, Death, The Allman Brothers, Stevie Ray Vaughan
Dylan: Gojira, Opeth, Cryptopsy
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
We’ve got some pretty wacky fans out there, coupled with our warped sense of humor there’s never NOT some weird exchange going on. We had one dude once who begged to come on tour with us to the point that he was saying he’d just sleep in the trailer with all the equipment.
13. What do you think of your fans?
They’re all a bunch of goons. Fun, lovable, hard partying goons. And we love them all.
14. What do you think of our site?
Actually it’s pretty badass. I’ve been searching through all the underground artists you guys have up there and it’s a very impressive group of artists you’ve been able to find and interact with. The Metal world needs sites like yours now more than ever.
15. Something to add?
