Stay Gone - Interview

In this new occasion we have the great opportunity to interview the Pop Punk band Stay Gone from France, here we will let you their FACEBOOK PAGE to give them a like and follow them.We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?  

We’re all big fans of The Get Up kids, a 90’s american Emo-Alternative band. Stay Gone is one of their greatest song, we love the message and the song in general. We didn’t think too much about the name, Stay Gone was kind of obvious for us.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?  

We didn’t really choose a genre. Pop Punk is what we’ve been listening to our whole lives, I was not even 10 years old when I got my first Blink record. Pop punk is not a choice, it’s just natural for us. It doesn’t mean we don’t listen to other things, we’re very open minded about music and are big fans of hardcore, hip hop, rap… we listen to pretty much anything really!

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?  

Yep we’ve all been friends for many years before Stay Gone except for Jeremy, that we met cause our first bass player quit after a few weeks. We still don’t like him very much but, he’s only the bass player, so it’s no big deal.

4. Each band member favourite band?  

Mine is Seahaven, I saw them a shitload of times I can’t get tired of them, they’re amazing. Tom’s fav band is Gallows (w/Franck Carter obv). Yoann pretty much exclusively listens to WSS. David is a big fan of State Champs and Jeremy is all about blink 182.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?  

Mainly our fucked up world, we wrote Bad News right after the attacks in Paris early 2015. What happens in my life inspires me a lot as well, Broken Claws is deeply personal. Basically, we write better shit when we’re either very happy or very angry, extreme feelings fuel us.

6. Where was your last gig?  

Last Saturday in Paris, it was our first show in a long time. We've been kind of off for the past 6 months, working on the EP and all that. Next show is in Feb with Roam and Trash Boat!

7. Where would you like to act?  

Anywhere really.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Neck Deep, TSSF, Taking Back Sunday (who knows!)…

9. Whom not?  

Whom not? well.. Riff Raff!

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?  

Well, it happens, sometimes. But it simply goes away when you step on stage. There are no tips I believe, everybody deals with it its own way. It never lasts very long though, do not worry wink emoticon

11. What bands have inspired you the most?  

To name a few, Neck Deep, Moose Blood, Sum 41, Taking Back Sunday…

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?  

Something pretty fucked up happened once. We got this message from a chick on our FB page right before a show in Lille, she basically asked us to wait for her in front of the venue so she could take a picture with us. It’s not like she wanted to see us play or anything, she just wanted a picture.. With us. I mean, we’re not Brand New.

13. What do you think of your fans?  

We heart emoticon them more than we heart emoticon Jeremy (except that girl mentioned a bit earlier, cause she freaks the fuck out of us)

14. What do you think of our site?  

Yoann loves it more than his WSS tee. And it means A LOT.
