Story - Interview

In this new occasion we have the awesome opportunity to interview the Metalcore/Rock band Story from UK, here we will let you their FACEBOOK PAGE to give them a like and follow them.We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?  

The bands name originated from the shared goal of wanting to tell our stories through music and that a message can be more powerful accompanied by music. We felt that story just summed up the whole idea and that this can relate to anyone's story.

2.Why did you want to play this genre? 

The great thing about our band is the mixed genres we listen to as individuals, from indie to rock, from metal to Justin bieber. This enables us to craft our own sound using many different influences and from this our genre evolved.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed? 

From school Chris and Matt have always jammed together and through social media we found our first vocalist Tom. As a three piece we were seeking another guitarist to play alongside Matt. Through advertising Liam came along for the ride. Chris was currently recording an indie band when he came across singer Bill Hobson. Bill looking for a new punchy project, chris invited him down to the prac room and so story began.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs? 

The common inspiration we all seem to have is to hopefully help others through music as music has helped us. There is no greater feeling than knowing whatever you're going through - you're not in it alone.

6. Where was your last gig?  

Our last gig was at Corporation Sheffield which was a sold out, headline show being one of the best shows we have played to date.

7. Where would you like to act?  

Within the UK Brixton academy has always been one of those dream venues for a lot of band and I feel we share the same feeling although for us, reaching outside the the uk would be a great achievement. Australia would be sick!

8. Whom would you like to feature with? 

Bands such as Our Last Night and A Day To Remember. Artists such as Matty Mullins (Memphis May Fire vocalist) and Sam Carter (Architects vocalist).

9. Whom not?  

At this point we would love to take every opportunity to be heard and to play to as many people as possible so we feel we are not in a position to be picky.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?  

We have all suffered from stage fright at least once and so the best advice we can offer as a band is practice practice practice and remember the fans are their to support you not watch you slip up so just enjoy yourself and be yourself.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?  

You Me At Six and A Day To Remember are the reason behind Matt and Chris starting the band. Other bands such as Foo Fighters, Linken Park, Breaking Benjamin and Bullet For My Valentine are the reason we all wanted to be musicians.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?  

After our headline show we had a kid come over to the merch stand and asked if we would do a Story cake for his birthday, so us being really good at baking we got our mums to do it!

13. What do you think of your fans?  

Loyal, interesting and some of the nicest people you will ever meet.

14. What do you think of our site?

It's really nice to see a page really giving up and coming bands the chance to be heard.  It's full of both new and familiar faces and is really up to date with the music scene. Thank you for giving us the opportunity!
