Tigerwizard - Interview

In this new occasion we have the great opportunity to interview the  Hardcore band Tigerwizard from Austria, here we will let you their FACEBOOK PAGE to give them a like and follow them.We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?  

Since we are all into skateboarding, our band name is the product of the videogame Skate 3! In the introvideo there's one scene where Colin McKay says:" Pro-Skaters are out. Tigers, Wizards are in. Guess what?! TIGERWIZARD".  We didn't had any better ideas so we took this one.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

All of us grew up in the Punk and Hardcore Punk genre, we are very engaged in this small scene with putting up shows for DIY bands and supporting local Bands. Therefore we didin't think about choosing a particular genre. We never wanted to do a specific type of music, but of course our biggest influence is Hardcore.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?  

We did not know each other but all of us knew Benni, our singer. He came up with the idea to form a band and we met each other first in the rehearsal room.

4. Each band member favourite band?  

Michi (Guitar): NOFX, Bane

Benni (Singer): Taylor Swift, Beastie Boys

Tobi (Drummer): Trash Talk, Verderber

Fabi (Bass): Stray from the Path, Seahaven

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

For us there is no particular reason to write songs, we just write about the things that come to our minds. It's hard to express, it's more like a feeling.

6. Where was your last gig?  

We played in Vienna at the farewell tour of Bane. It was a blast to share the stage with these awesome guys.

7. Where would you like to act?  

As a DIY band we enjoy playing everywhere either it's a basement a cellar or a club. We would also play weddings but somehow got never booked for some..

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Lee Spielman from Trash Talk!

9. Whom not?  

Any kind of fascist, sexist or racist asshole.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?  

Sometimes more, sonmetimes less. Mostly we are just stoked to get on stage and play. Everyone has his own way to deal with it so it's hard to give tips, but the most important thing is to enjoy the energy on stage and have a good time.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?  

Bands like Medea, Rotting Out, Sleep, Backtrack, Power Trip and many more have influenced us a lot over the time. Make sure to check out all of them!

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?  

Normally, we're the ones who ask weird things.

13. What do you think of your fans?  

It's cool that people check out our shows. Anyone who is open minded and into heavy music is welcome.

14. What do you think of our site?  

It's good to see, that there are people who support the diy scene. Without people who are willing to do something just for the love of music and community, it wouldn't work out!

15. Something to add?

On January 30th is the release show for our new record " Born to die" with Avalanche, Verderber and Spirit desire in Vienna. We'll also upload it to our bandcamp site. Thank you for the Interview and keep up the great work.
