Interviews: Portrait Of My Failure

In this new occasion we have the awesome opportunity to interview the  Metalcore/Deathcore band Portrait Of My Failure from Greece, here we will let you their FACEBOOK PAGE to give them a like and follow them.We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The idea came as an inspiration from a book called ‘’The picture of Dorian Gray’’ where the hero Dorian Gray has made a pact with the devil and instead of him growing old a portrait of him is the one being affected by the passing of time with all his sins appearing on the portrait as well. Thus the band’s name is about the ‘’portrait’’ that all people are hiding inside of us and all the failures and sins it has gathered over time.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

The band chose to play this genre of music because the founding members had an interest in a lot of metalcore and deathcore bands even before the formation of the band and the decision was taken to become a part of the metalcore/deathcore scene.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

The starting members formed the band only a week after they met but the band’s line up has changed over time and the current members didn’t know each other before playing in the same band.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Apostolis(Frontman): The Devil Wears Prada

Jim(Bass): Avenged Sevenfold

Deiomitry(Lead Guitar): Nevermore

Thanos(Rhythm Guitar): Dir en Grey

Kostas(Drums): Scorpions

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

In the starting months of the band the main influence was the personal experiences of the band’s members but lately the inspiration comes from people’s sad stories, tragedies and misfortune.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was at our home city Larissa 5 months ago at the Metal Assault Festival Vol.I

7. Where would you like to act?

For a start we would like to perform at a big European festival and we would be very happy if we managed to play at the Warped Tour in the United States.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We would love to feature with bands like The Devil Wears Prada, Asking Alexandria , Amity Affliction and Betraying the Martyrs.

9. Whom not?

We wouldn’t mind with any band of any genre.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

When i Thanos the current rhythm guitarist joined the band i had been playing guitar for only 5 months and i was very frightened of playing in front of a crowd but what I found out was that stage fright seemed to affect me only shortly before actually going up on stage but when I got there it apparently went away thus my tip to beginners is to try to not think about the fear you have before going up on stage and when you get up there it will go away and with every passing gig you will no longer be affected by it!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

The Devil Wears Prada, As I Lay Dying and Asking Alexandria and many other metalcore/deathcore bands

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Although it might not be that crazy a fan once asked us to play a gig without wearing any clothes!

13. What do you think of your fans?

We love all our fans and we have to say that they awesome and we thank them for everything because without them we would be nothing and to better express how much we love them we confess now that if we and our fans were stranded on an island with no food we would gladly let them FEAST on our bodies!

We really like your site and the work that you do to support the underground scene keep it up guys, awesome work

We would like to remind people to always support their local scene and international scene with a lot of passion and love for all bands!
