Interviews: The Beautiful Exchange

In this new occasion we had the great opportunity to interview the Christian Metalcore band The Beautiful Exchange from USA. We have nothing more to say than enjoy this interview and like their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
It's kind of a funny story, but not really.  So, Jeremiah's sister actually thought of the name. She got it from the bible verse 2 Corinthians 5:14-15. It talks about how Jesus Christ died for the people of the world, so that we would no longer live for ourselves, but for Him. Hence, the beautiful exchange. His life for our life.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

It is seriously just really fun and aggressive. Plus, it's a great genre to reach out to people, because there is so many people that listen to metal.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Yes and no. Tommy, Jeremiah, Josh, and Austin were the original members. Then, Austin was like "duces, suckas!". Moving on, Tommy met Gabe at a local show and later on asked him to join. Gabe already knew Garrett so it worked out really great. Now we all know each other and it's magical.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Gabe: Counterparts
Tommy: Leeland
Josh: Polyphia
Garrett: August Burns Red
Jeremiah: Impending Doom

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Life experiences, trials, family, bands that we love, and scripture.

6. Where was your last gig?

Liquid Lounge in Deep Ellum (Dallas). It was a super fun Mothers Day metal gig.

7. Where would you like to act?

House of Blues Dallas. A lot of bands we love have stood on that very stage. Warped Tor would be nice too ;D

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We would love to share the stage with Fit For a King, ABR, Counterparts, and especially Silent Planet. I mean their singers name bears the same as our guitarist. Jeremiah would love to share with Impending Doom and Born Of Osiris! Seriously, all of these are amazing bands.

9. Whom not?

Well, we don't even have the rights or skills as musicians to choose whom not to play with haha. We are just some guys who want to share the music we create, and make friends along the way, no matter our preferences.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

We have all suffered from that, especially in the beginning with our first couple set of shows. Former member of Least of These, Chase, asked me (Gabe) a question while we were talking and hanging out at one of their shows. He asked, "Do you trust God?". I answered, "Yes". Basically, going on to say that that was it. That's all you need when you're up there. Have trust and confidence in the one who gave you lungs to breath and mouth to speak. For those who don't believe in what we do, you have to believe that you are capable and willing to get on stage, scream or sing on a mic, shred a solo, slap the bass, or whatever. You have to believe that you have a skill, gift, or talent to share to the people listening.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

August Burns Red is a big one for Garrett and the rest of us. Impending Doom, Whitechapel, and Texas in July is big for Jeremiah. A lot of it is rooted in the different kinds of metal we listen to.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Garrett was actually asked by someone after a show if they could buy his guitar(Custom Carvin) for $300. Garrett then responded to ask, "can you add $1500 to that?" Fun times.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We seriously love our fans. Almost half of our fan base does not listen to metal, but yet they still come to our shows and support us. "And that's all I have say about that".

14. What do you think of our site?

It's solid. It's simple. It gets the job done. Overall, you're doing a great thing for the small local bands like us haha.

15. Something to add?

We just released our new EP called "Captured". Here's the link: https://thebeautifulexchange.bandcamp.com/album/captured-2 We are also writing for our first LP. We are super stoked on it!
