Interviews: Far From Oniria

In this new occasion we had the great opportunity to interview the Metalcore band Far From Oiniria from Spain. We have nothing more to say than enjoy this interview and like their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
At the beginnings of the band we compose a very simple version of one of our actual songs called “Walking through Oniria”. When we had to choose a band name, we were looking for something with the word “Oniria”, so we make up a name with it.
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
David Exposito (Singer): I like this genre because it allows me to use different types of voice, like clean voice a part from screams/gutturals.
Band: we were all listening bands related with this genre, which has influenced us a lot and has positioned us in this style.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
David (guitar player) and Alejandro (guitar player too) knew each other through internet while they were looking for band members. A few time later they met Eric, who became the drummer. Berta (bass player) contact us because she was interested in playing bass in a metalcore band, so she contact us to play with. Then, David (Singer) was in another band before Far From Oniria, but the band ended so he started looking for a new band and ended up in Far From Oniria.
4. Each band member favorite band?

David Wolf: The Ghost Inside
Alejandro: Texas in July
David: As I Lay Dying (would say Trivium but he doesn’t like their last album)
Berta: We Came as Romans
Eric: A Day to Remember
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
David: I usually listen to the song so many times, I listen to what my heart says and this is how the lyrics are done.
David Wolf: When I listen songs from other bands I try to get all the techniques and absorb the information to adapt it to our music style.

Alejandro: I get inspired by my favorite bands, and I study a lot his techniques.  I try to change some things from the basics of this genre, but keeping the main important things. I love breakdowns, so they can’t be missing.

Berta: I’m trying to improve everyday listening to good bassists  and as a bassist it's fun follow the drums and give it some power.
Eric: I usually listen to my favorite drummers to learn fills and how to connect guitar riffs. I also like write a very simple drum track and evolve it till it ends up like a metalcore track.
