Interviews: It Lives It Breathes
In this new occasion we have the awesome opportunity to interview the Post-Hardcore/Electronic band It Lives It Breathes from USA, here we will let you their FACEBOOK PAGE to give them a like and follow them.We have nothing more to say, so enjoy this interview!
1.Where did you take the idea of "It Lives It Breathes"?
ILIB actually spawned out of a bad breakup/split from a past project and the members considered quitting music at that point. When we decided to keep going in this new band "It Lives, It Breathes" was almost a metaphorical way of saying that we wouldn't give up and that we're not out of the game yet. It's also visually influenced by Frankenstein and the whole "It's Alive" theme.
2.Which bands have inspired you the most when you started this project?
Too many to say truthfully. Each member is literally influenced by almost every single genre and artist from Hip hop to country to EDM. As far as this bands closest related artists we stand pretty directly to Linkin Park and 30 Seconds To Mars... I guess haha. It's very spread out. The NEW record jumps from an EDM festival sound to a Slipknot single to a Chuck Berry influence to a Transformers Sountrack style single, it's literally everywhere and that's how we like it.
3. Why did you choose to play Metal/Electronic music?
First off, we're not a metal band haha sites like Metalsucks and Lambgoat are great for the hype but they're right about us not being a metal act. We're a rock act, just because we have screams it doesn't classify us as a direct metal act. Are we influenced greatly BY metal? Of course. But the music is Rock & Roll. The Electronic influence? We're club kids at heart we adore EDM, we always have since we were super young. We love the idea of blending the 2 styles together and imagining breaking down the borders of those two worlds. There's other artists out there that are trying to do it and have tried but honestly in our opinion they haven't done it right. We can, we will. And someday it's gonna be the reason we become Hall Of Famers in both worlds.
4. Has always been the same type of music of has the evolved with the sounds?
I don't understand what you're asking.
5. Each band member favourite band?
Kris: Linkin Park
Anthony: Don Broco
Jordan: Slipknot
Kevin: Michael Jackson (band Queen).
6. In whats related to the composition of your music, where do you and the mates takes the inspiration?
We try to be as diverse as possible. When we started this band the goal was to be able to do absolutely ANYTHING we wanted. No boundaries. We're influenced by alot of current events and world issues. We like the idea of our music being a sort of social commentary on what the world is like now. Along with creating a story for the characters we play on stage.
7. As a well known band, we suppose that you have made many tours, any anecdote to tell?
We have toured independently (DIY) the entire US over 10 times before we were ever signed. We have a momentous amount of stories from the road and we're very lucky to be alive since our van was once hit by an 18 wheeler in the highway in Montana.
8. Where would you like to play a show?
Right off the top of our head, Montreal, Canada or Tokyo, Japan.
9. Now you are part of Stay Sick Recordings, what can you say about it?
Too early to tell, we'll see ;p we love the team. Mike Milford and Fronz are amazing dudes with a great vision for where this industry needs to be going.
10. Many of our readers maybe are interested in starting a band, what can you say to them as a reccomendation?
Learn from every mistake you make. It will be what makes your band the best in the world. Learn, apply your practices, elevate the game by being yourself not something that's already been put out. Never give up and don't be afraid to be yourself.
11. As you have fans, what can you say about them?
Their devotion to us is probably the main reason we keep going. It's rough out here in the industry, it's a fucking fraternity and we're not one of the "cool kids" a lot of bands aren't. The fans help keep us grounded and constantly remind of what's most important.
12. We suppose that at the end of most of the shows fans go to your van/bus and asked you for signs, but what is the weirdest thing a fan ever asked for?
Someone asked if she could literally take the entire band as her prom date. And she was dead serious.
13. Something more to add?
Preorder our NEW record "Silver|Knights" and be the reason our dreams finally came true. Be a part of making music great again. This record is the answer this band is the future
