News: MUSEUM MOUTH PREMIERES "RIFF FROM MY HEAD" VIA BROOKLYN VEGAN
Wilmington, NC's Museum Mouth is now premiering "Riff From My Head" from their upcoming full-length, Popcorn Fish Guinea Pig, via BrooklynVegan.
"I spent all of 2013 trying to make a straight man love me, wrote an album about it (Alex I Am Nothing), and then got over it LOL!!! As cheesy as this sounds, just writing those songs helped me get through it, and "Riff" is an attempt to acknowledge that fact," reveals Museum Mouthvocalist/drummer Karl Kuehn. "And when you have a super scratched up copy of Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morissette in your car that skips on every track except "You Oughta Know" - I think that's the universe talking or something idk."
Museum Mouth will release Popcorn Fish Guinea Pig, their fourth full-length album, on April 29 via Rory Records - Max Bemis of Say Anything's imprint within Equal Vision Records. On Popcorn Fish Guinea Pig Kuehn and his bandmates, guitarist Graham High and bassist Kory Urban, explore the overwhelming emotions (ranging from nostalgia to trauma, with a splash of self-realization) that come from a move back to one's hometown after years away, and re-exploring small town life as an adult. "Riff From My Head" follows the release of "Incubus Tattoo", which debuted last week via Stereogum.

Pre-orders are available now via museummouth.merchnow.com and each include an instant download of "Incubus Tattoo" and "Riff From My Head". Vinyl for Popcorn Fish Guinea Pig is limited to 1000 including the following variants: red/white haze (limited to 200), black (limited to 300) and transparent pink (limited to 500).
"Sometimes you go through shit, some of it is unbelievable shit (good or bad), some of it is kinda fun. Sometimes you move back home and you realize why you're the neurotic, pop culture obsessed, queer fool you are," reveals Kuehn. "And sometimes you find out that you really like that person...I know that in the downtime, and the loneliness that comes from living in a small town in your mid-twenties, I found out I sure did."
Next month, Museum Mouth will head out on a full US tour supporting Say Anything, mewithoutYou, and Teen Suicide. All upcoming tour dates can be found below.
