Track By Track: One Morning Left - Metalcore Superstars (2016)

1. OML_KVLT:

The song is basically about welcoming the new members (me and Niko) to the band and telling the world that we are stronger than ever. "from the ashes we will rise, we need to leave our past behind" says it all! Lots of gangvocals, a strong song to play live.

2. Heavy Metal Finland:

This was one of the funniest songs to create and record hahaha! You will understand the second you start hearing it. The lyrics are about sex; both in the party-kind of way and more passionate/love-driven. Crazy guitar stuff, superfunny vocals and just really provocative all over; this is One Morning Left! no boundaries.

3. ¡Derailed!:

The only song that has political vibes in it. It's about the ability to read media the right way; not eating everything you are told to. Awesome guitar stuff created by our guitarist Ari!

4. You’re dead! Let’s disco!:

ENERGY. That's the word. I made this song entirely for shows and it kicks ass! The lyrics are about my friend who had a habit of letting everyone down in some way or another. You don't need to take shit from anyone; constructive criticism is totally different from talking shit. Keep your minds open people! (ps flutebreakdown)

5. The Recipe:

A cooking show from Satans point of view. 'cause why not? "a teaspoon of hate, a pint of jealousy, a gallon of pride; that's the recipe!". My favourite lyrics and song of the album. A kickass opening song for shows!

6. Kings and Queens:

Withering love. Ari created the guitar parts of the chorus as a half-joke but the song ended up being great! Easiest song to listen from the album.

7. Fast and Furious 6.66:

This song was created in 10 minutes after a very hangovered rehearsals. The title says it all! The lyrics are about focusing on the positive side of life and not giving in to the naysayers.

8. Devil’s Nest:

A very different song; egypt-vibes and unusual guitar stuff! It's about two-faced people; saying one thing, meaning the other; promising stuff you can't keep.

9. Metalcore Superstars:

Our singer Miksu wanted one song to have this sport team kind of "before the match" feel to it and this is it; preparing for a battle. The sentence "the time for honoring yourself will soon be at an end" is taken from the movie Gladiator.

10. Eternity:

Twisted love, the darker side of attachment. The first time I listened to this song I immediately thought of the great Edgar Allan Poe and that is where the inspiration for the lyrics came from. Pure love for Poe.

11. Sticks and Stones:

The most personal song for me. Care-free childhood, the games we played, summer breeze.. an perfect ending for the album!  All the riffs and parts of the song are made in a childish state of mind except the ending; it's like visiting your childhood and then waking up to the present and all the responsibilities.
