Track By Tracks: All In - Lost (2016)
1. Lifeline:
I think it's easy to say that most of us have someone, at some point in our life, who doesn't wholeheartedly support or believe in you as much as you would need. To me, it was pretty discouraging at first to be placed in this situation. Especially because I myself am such a supportive person when people are trying to make good for themselves. I can never understand why people put down on others for thinking big. It's pretty cliche, but that old saying "shoot for the stars, even if you miss you'll land among the stars" isn't something to over look. My dad played in a band for nearly 2 decades. He made decent money but never hit the big time and one day I just flat out asked him "do you regret it?" And his response changed my life. "Not at all, because if I had never tried, I'd be kicking myself over it every day." Every. Single. Day. Don't ever let someone tell you that you cannot do anything. Let yourself be your motivator. JUST DO IT! (had to sorry lol.)
2. Capsized:
Where do I even begin? This song was honestly written more so for others than myself. I find it so heart breaking that there are so many people out there who feel so much emotional distress and believe that they are alone. That they are the only one who can relate, so they keep their mouths closed and suffer in silence. This song is a call to arms for those who feel this way. You must know that you are not alone in your fight. Your life is so very valuable and help is out there if you seek in the right places. I personally am willing to listen if you just need someone to talk to. Sometimes that is all it takes. And I am no psychiatrist, but what I have learned is that I am a very good friend. And sometimes that truly is all you need.
3. Weathered:
This is a big one for me. You ever go through life being the one who does everything for people, but when you need them they are never there? Yeah, me too. It takes a toll on you. Just like the real process of weathering. Take time for yourself. Care for yourself. And make sure that the people you care for as you do yourself would do the same for you. Because in the end, as harsh as it may sound, you are the only one who can 100% of the time be there for you. Take the time you need for yourself. It isn't selfish, it's right.
4. Vacant:
I remember sitting at my desk at work writing this song. I was just really down that day. It was pouring rain and just completely unproductive. I just felt, well basically "vacant" of my emotions. I simply just didn't care about anything anymore. It took a couple hours after the rain passed for me to really start picking back up. I started thinking about the band and it really moved me. It always does. I just picked up a pen and grabbed my notepad and started writing. No matter how vacant you may feel, we are all deserving of happiness, and this is my first hand view of that.
5. Lost:
We decided to end our first release with the title track. When we first made this band in January of 2015, I felt as though this would be my beacon. The one thing to drive me home. I was struggling with my thoughts, my life as a whole, and just who I was in general. I wrote the lyrics to this song off of those emotions at the time, as I do with everything I write, and named this one as bluntly as I could. I don't try to hide meanings of make listeners decipher. I want them to relate, and with that this song as well as the decision to title the EP "Lost" came along. Every single day we are pushing as hard as we possibly can to be heard. We want this so very badly and will continue to put as much effort needed to show that. We hope that you all can relate to what we stand for. We hope you all the very best for your lives. Life is such a precious thing. Never forget its value.
