Interviews: For The Shake Of Us

In this new occassion we have had the pleasure to interview the Melodic Hardcore band For The Shake Of Us, from Italy. Check out this band because they are amazing and do not forget to follow them in their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The idea for the name was born pretty long time ago, when Andrea and I were thinking about putting on a melodic hardcore band like This is a Standoff. I was really really hooked with a song of Vanna "Safe To Say", where at the end he says "I let go for the sake of you", and we thinked for the sake of what we do it? The answer was "for the sake of us all" and we decided to cut off the all to make it more musical!

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Francesco: Like I said we started with a different idea. We wanted to make some melodical stuff, but when other member came, everyone brought something, and our main influence shifted from This Is a Standoff to Counterparts. Was pretty gradual as a change, if your ear our EP and then the news songs you can fell the change!

Pierpaolo: I was found it prettry charming, because it's not something you see everyday.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Francesco and Andrea played together all the lifetime, or so. Luca, our first bass guitar is a close Francesco's friend. So only Pier came after.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Francesco: if I have to say just one I would say Silverstein. But really, Saosin (2006), Funeral For A Friend and Counterparts are just there.

Alessio: Touchè Amorè.

Andrea: Counterparts and Pantera.

Pierpaolo: Counterparts and Worthwhile.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Everything that happens in our lives and changes our days (positive or negative that it is) inspires us. We are not just about love songs, but we think that it's still the main things that moves us on.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was Xmas Core, in December. We stopped pretty much because we changed bass guitarist and we wanted to work on new stuff. A very HOT summer awaits us anyway, we want to recover all the wasted time!

7. Where would you like to act?

Everywhere there are good crowds and people. We just love to travel and to play gigs so distance doesn't scare us. We want to see new places and know new people

8) Whom would you like to feature with?

Francesco: Damn, i would love to feature with Caleb Shomo! I think he just isn't able to write a chorus that doesn't stick to your head all the day! I would like bands like Attila, it's nothing personal, just don't like band with 0 attitude.

Pierpaolo: To this question i have to give two answers. For emotional songs, i stay on my favorite bands, so Counterparts and Worthwhile, their style of music and their ideas, reflect my own, then do a song with them would help me to grow musically and to better develop my ideas. For the "strong songs," i would definitely make a song with While She Sleeps.

9. Whom not?

Pierpaolo: Unfortunately, i would never do anything with Asking Alexandria.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Francesco: To be honest on the first gig my legs where shaking. We were supposed to play in a small gig with some friends just  outside of our rehearsal room, but aournd 300 ppl show out, I still have no idea why. That was pretty cool but at the same time scary. But you know, when you start doing what you love it's just a second and than magic happens.

Pierpaolo: I honestly, not a lot, i began studying guitar when i was just over 8 years, so from an early age, for various competitions, i was always in front of people.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Francesco: I would say, way more than the bands we ear on youtube all the local bands that made good things. On two foots i would say No Blame, Waiting For Better Days, Minus Tree, BackJumper and many others. They made me understand that I mine to say too.

Pierpaolo: There is not only a band that inspired me, but there were three main, Green Day, Sum 41 and Blink 182.  I was 5 years old when my brother gave me a CD with them 3 and Linkin Park.  I have always been a reference point for me and always will be!

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

To play a love song for his gf! Damn, it was really a bad song.

13. What do you think of your fans?

The big part of them are just friend of us atm, but that's ok it's the way to start! We hope to our fanbase to grow up with us. :)

14. What do you think of our site?

I think it's so good to give small bands some space, and there should be way more sites like yours. All the small bands have lot to things to say and so a few ways to say them.

15. Something to add?

Thanks for the space, means so much to us. Hope to hear from you guys soon!
