Interviews: Ghosts Again
In this new occassion we have had the pleasure to interview the Post-Hardcore band Ghosts Again, from USA. Check out this band because they are amazing and do not forget to follow them in their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
Alex: When we were trying to come up with a band name we actually deliberated about it for weeks. We went through so many horrible names until I came up with this one. It was really just a lot of going through old lyrics of mine and different concepts trying to find something that sounded nice. “Ghosts Again” was just the first one that was brought to the table that we could all even remotely agree on. Haha.
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
Alex: Honestly this music is just what comes most naturally to us. We started this band with the intention of just writing the music we felt would portray us as the best musicians we could be. We try to not put limits, rules, or lines around our music to really allow us to do pretty much anything in any given song.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Alex: Yep! Brandon and I actually played in a previous local band for about 4 years together and we knew Arun because his previous band had played shows with us in the past. We all sort of became friends that way and always stayed in touch. We would actually talk occasionally about how we would love to play music together and when this band formed, it was just like the time was right.
4. Each band member favourite band?
Brandon: “Coheed and Cambria”
Alex: “Pierce The Veil”
Arun: “Twenty-One Pilots”
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
Alex: I think for me it’s music itself that inspires me. It’s such a surreal feeling to truly connect to a song and have music act as emotional support for you no matter what you’re going through, and I’ve always just wanted to be able to create that for other people.
6. Where was your last gig?
Arun: Our last show was a fun one with some good friends at a bar called CRAVE in Greenville NC.
7. Where would you like to act?
Alex: I don’t think we really have anywhere we really single out. We’d like to hit them all though!
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
Alex: I know we all would adore working with great artists like Patrick Stump (Fall Out Boy), Brendon Urie (Panic! At the Disco), or Vic Fuentes (Pierce the Veil). All of them are phenomenal writers and very distinct in their art.
9. Whom not?
Alex: Haha. There’s plenty of those but I doubt we could single any of them out!
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
Alex: I think we’re all fairly natural performers. I started playing live music when I was 14 so the first few shows I got a bit nervous on stage but didn’t really have any freak outs before the set or anything like that. It only got easier from there. After a few shows it became just like any other day. The more you do it the better you get.
Arun: Not so much anymore but the first time I ever played drums in front of a crowd of people, at one point I was so nervous I completely forgot how the song went and I literally just stopped playing for a solid couple of seconds. As far as tips I think you just get used to it the more you play in front of crowds.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Alex: To add to the list earlier of favorite bands, bands like Underoath, Fall Out Boy, Letlive., Bayside, and Touche Amore have all contributed in some way to inspiring us to keep pursuing music.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Alex: That’s a tough one. I think we’ve seen some abnormal things but nothing too weird.
13. What do you think of your fans?
Alex: The world. Our fans are genuinely like family to us. We adore them and they are an ever growing source of inspiration and motivation for us to keep doing what we’re doing. We’re really lucky in that way. - Alex
14. What do you think of our site?
Alex: Great place! Awesome people!
15. Something to add?
Just a shout out to the Ghosts Again family for keeping us strong and a reminder to all new and old listeners to pre order our upcoming EP “The Closest Thing to Closure” which comes out April 22nd!
