Interviews: Manipulation

In this new occassion we have had the pleasure to interview the Metal/Metalcore band Manipulation, from Poland. Check out this band because they are amazing and do not forget to follow them in their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?  

(Rado.Slav): Yes of course we planned that. When we make a band was a few options, I remember in 2001 one of them was “Maze of Torment” (because of Morbid Angel song title from their album Altars of Madness). Finally we don’t choose this because we now that the one word name will be better, and we know that music which we will play will be metal music. I don’t remember exactly who from us say that magical name first time, but when we heard MANIPULATION we know that this will be that. Perfect name for metal band! I fuckin love that!  

2.Why did you want to play this genre?  

(Rado.Slav): I don’t know! It was natural for us, everybody from band listened extreme music so we don’t think to play something different than metal!  

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?  

(Rado.Slav): Yes, we know each other because we all come from the same little town called Goldap (in the north-east Poland).  

4. Each band member favourite band?  

Rado.Slav: This is hard question because is too many of them, and many genres. But few of them: Gojira, Morbid Angel, Immolation, Hate Eternal, Nile, Marduk, Death, Metallica, Slayer, Behemoth, Decapitated, Alice in Chains, Queen, David Bowie. Fuckin hell! Is too many of them!  

Vulture: I don’t have favorites because this list will be to long …  

Kriss: Gojira, Hate Eternal, Behemoth, Nile, Mayhem, Morbid Angel, Immolation  

Bysiek: I dont have favourite bands, it depends what I want to hear - this what I choose become my favourite at this time :). It is really complicated. Is to much bands so I cannot put just few of them, is to many bands and it will be too long list ...  Hiero: Nile, Aborted, Luca Turilli, Pathfinder 

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?  

(Rado.Slav): Hate to religions! Any! Everyday life, politics, situation around, sometimes some abstractive thoughts in my mind, universe and his energy …  

6. Where was your last gig?  

(Rado.Slav): Last gig was in November 2015 in Spain. It was at the final of Bilbo-Rock contest where we won second place in Bilbao.

7. Where would you like to act?  

Everywhere around the world.  

8. Whom not? Whom would you like to feature with? 

(Rado.Slav): I don’t know, we will see at the future, maybe somebody will make a featuring with us maybe not, but will be nice someday to make a feat. with Vogg from Decapitated. With whom not? I don’t think about useless things …  

9. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?  

I think every person feel little fright before enter the stage but I think it is normal. Every person is different, and everybody feel different kind of fright. When stage is Your natural environment after few moments You feel there likie fish inside the water. So if you are born to be on stage You will always win with fright. Tips ? Be yourself and do your things! That's it! Be fuckin natural! Don't play different person. If You like drink before a lot - do this, If you like smoke weed before just smoke and go! :) Very very simple ...  

10. What bands have inspired you the most?  

(Rado.Slav): Is hard to tell, You know when I was young and when I started to play the guitar and I want not only play music, but compose music big impression for me made Chuck Schuldiner and Death. Now I take a lot inspirations from bands like Nile, Hate Eternal, Gojira, Decapitated, Immolation and from many many more. I listen a lot of music and a lot of genres and I think a lot of factors inspired myself to compose music or write some lyrics.  

11. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?  

(Rado.Slav): One of them is for example:  How many money we earn from metal playing ? 0_o  

12. What do you think of your fans?  

(Rado.Slav): They are amazing, You know we made our music mainly for ourselfs, but when You see that a lot of persons started to listen your music and You have a lot of fans it is nice and is like a drugs :) You want gather more and more. Catch them one by one and create fuckin Manipulation army! Fans are very important part of the band!  

13. What do you think of our site?  

(Rado.Slav): If I have to be honest with You I never heard before about Your site. Of course I check the site and it look very professional, many news posted, interviews etc. I think You are making a good job! Keep it up!

14. Something to add?
