Interviews: Seven Hills

In this new occassion we have had the pleasure to interview the Metal/Hardcore band Seven Hills, from Romania. Check out this band because they are amazing and do not forget to follow them in their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

When we came to the point we should choose a name to represent our band, we started to come up with various ideas, but decided to stick to “Seven Hills” because of the fact that the town from where we came from, Iasi (Romania) is situated on seven hills. So, this is and would be the main reason behind our band name.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Because it mostly represents us and the music we listen to. The style/genre we’re playing is a combination of all the genres/bands we listen to. But overall, it’s not about labeling your band, but doing what you like and enjoy most.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Dragos (vocals) and Marin (guitars) knew each other from when they did a collab-cover on a song by Parkway Drive – “Idols and Anchors”; this was in the winter of 2015, the month of October of the same year was the day when they started the rehearsals, being joined by Catalin on bass and Timi on drums. The spring of 2016 came with the adding of Ciprian on guitars.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Dragos: Architects

Marin: Lamb Of God

Ciprian: Dream Theater

Catalin: Children Of Bodom

Timi: Between The Buried And Me

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Main inspiration would be the world around us, the things we see, the things we achieve, our relations between us and the world, our beliefs and so on.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig took place in Chisinau, Moldova on the 26th of March, this year.

7. Where would you like to act?

For starters, we would like to tour our country, Romania, and then expand our horizons. Dreaming like every other band, but time will tell more.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

There are too many bands we enjoy and would like to perform alongside with.

9. Whom not?

As stated previously, we would like to share the stage with as many bands as possible.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

No, no stage fright. There are tips (maybe) but in our opinion, one does not have to be afraid of getting on stage, because at the end of the day, this is why music is for: to conquer and overcome your fears. And if stage fright occurs, focus on what you are doing, believe in yourself and do your best alongside your bandmates and the attendance in front of you. It’s all about you.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Dragos: Architects, The Devil Wears Prada, While She Sleeps and A Day To Remember.

Marin: Lamb Of God, Monuments, Parkway Drive and August Burns Red

Ciprian: Dream Theater, Periphery, Born Of Osiris and Veil Of Maya

Catalin: Children Of Bodom and Parov Stelar

Timi: August Burns Red, Parkway Drive, Karnivool, Between The Buried And Me

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

None.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We like to consider them as friends and ask them to stick to us, because we would do our best to pay off for their feedback and support. There are many things to prove to us firstly and secondly, to them, the ones that stick by our side, even if we are a fresh band. In time, we hope our fan base will grow larger and larger.

14. What do you think of our site?

You guys are doing a god job by promoting in this way bands worldwide. Keep doing this because we’re sure it helps a lot of bands to make themselves heard and also helps us connect with human beings doing music from all over the world. Thank you !

15. Something to add?
