Interviews: Conquer Divide

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore band Conquer Divide, from USA. Check out this band because they are amazing and do not forget to follow them in their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name "Conquer Divide", did you planned it or came out just like that?

Kiarely: We had a few different ideas for band names, but we ultimately chose Conquer Divide because we felt like it was unique; it also represented the struggle that we face as women in a male dominated industry, closing the gap between us and what some people might consider "the impossible."

2. Your music is tagged as metalcore but why did you choose that genre?

K: It's fairly difficult to put music into small boxes of genre. I don't know that we ever decided that our music was "metalcore." I think it really depends on the listener; usually fans will decide what genre they think you fit best into. I think it is fairly fitting.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

K: We didn't really know one another outside of this band. We all met with the common interest of making Conquer Divide as good as it could be. I think we all just got very lucky that we found each other, because really, these girls are my best friends. It's very rare to find people you are compatible with on so many levels. But we did it!

4. Each band member favorite band?

K: It's hard to pick just one favorite band! That's like choosing a favorite child!! We all have different tastes, and different types of music. I don't know if we can pick only one.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

K: Every song we write has come from a personal experience that we have gone through. It's easy to write about things you know and have felt, even though the challenge comes from knowing that everyone who listens is going to see inside your soul a little bit. We've been inspired by all types of emotion and life in general.

6. Where was your last gig?

K: Well we just got home from the Us Against The World tour with Slaves. It was a month long tour ending in California.

7. Where would you like to act, festival, country...?

K: We would all really like to go to Japan. It's been super high on our wish list. I would love to experience other cultures. We would also LOVE to play warped tour. Soon, hopefully.

8. Whom would you like to feature with in a song?

K: I think it would be cool to do a song with PVRIS or Crown the Empire.

9. Whom not?

K: I wouldn't really be opposed to doing a song with anyone. I like a good challenge, and I love singing, so I'm always open to that!

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

K: Before going onstage I am usually super nervous, no matter how many times I've done it. But I think once you get on stage and you really start getting into the songs, the nervousness kind of goes away. If you are going to perform and you are still getting stage fright, just take deep breaths, remind yourself how awesome you are, and if it helps, when you get on the stage just don't look at anyone! I used to just look at the top of peoples heads! haha!

11. What bands have inspired you the most to start with this band?

K: My biggest inspiration has always been Hayley Williams. She is a bad ass female who really shows what it means to have girl power!

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

K: I've never really had anyone ask for anything weird, but we did have a fan ask us who has the smelliest feet. I honestly still don't know the answer to that question!

13. What do you think of your fans?

K: I love our fans so much! Without them, we literally would be nothing! Every thing we do, we do it for the fans and for all of the people who look up to us. We have some of the best fans in the world. I know that all of our fans have helped us when we needed help and supported us despite the long waits between music and tours. We love you guys!

14. What do you think of our site Breathing The Core?

K: I think the site is really awesome! I really like that you have a compilation for your viewers to download so they can have some cool jams to listen to!

15. Something to add for your fans and our fans?

K: To those of you who haven't heard of us, don't be shy! Check us out and let us know what you think. And to our original familia, Stay tuned for more awesome stuff! We love you!! xoxo
