Interviews: If Not For Me

In this new occassion we have had the pleasure to interview the Metalcore/ Hardcore band If Not For Me, from USA. Check out this band because they are amazing and do not forget to follow them in their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We had a past member who came up with the name. At the end of the day, all you have is yourself. You're born alone, and sadly you'll also die alone. You are the only person that truly has your back. That's pretty much what the name entails.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We wanted to play this genre because we all grew up with heavy music influences. We just didn't want to be a pop-punk band, like a lot of the east coast scene.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We didn't really know each other. We just knew of each other. Everyone except for Lars went to the same high school.

4. Each band member’s favourite band?

Mine (Joey) at the moment is Ice Nine Kills. I think Hayden would say the same. Alex is definitely a huge fan of August Burns Red, they're actually from around here. And Lars definitely digs on The Devil Wears Prada.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Our biggest song writing inspiration is the things that go on in our everyday lives. Or things that we enjoy. I'm (Joey) a very personal writer, and I think the rest of the guys are as well.

6. Where was your last gig?

The Chameleon Club in Lancaster, PA for the Launch Music Conference!

7. Where would you like to play?

We´d love to play any big festivals, like Warped Tour for sure. We'd love to play Knot Fest some day too.

8. Who would you like to collaborate with?

I'd (Joey) love to collaborate with Jeremy McKinnon of A Day To Remember. He's a big inspiration of mine personally, and we all really dig A Day To Remember.

9. Whom not?

I really don't think there's anyone we wouldn't collaborate with. We're all open to anything.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I'm (Joey) still extremely nervous for any show. The best way to beat that fear is to tell yourself that this is what you wanted, and this what you've been practicing so hard for. Even if no one likes it, you still did your best, and you still had fun. That's all that matters.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

We've been inspired by so many bands that it's hard to pick out just one band. Many different genres have inspired us as well. To name an artists that we take inspiration from, I would say Ice Nine Kills. They have the best stage production, and live presence. Those guys are absolutely killer live! We also like to look at what successful artists are doing, and try to figure out a way to do something similar, with our own little twist to it.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Definitely sign a paper plate.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We couldn't be happier with our fans. They give us endless support, and we know that we would be no where without them. They've been there for us since we first took the stage, and we are forever humbled to have any fans at all. Haha!

14. What do you think of our site?

We think it's awesome! We really loved being a part of it. You guys do some awesome interviews, and we really love how into the scene you guys are. Thanks for having us!
