Interviews: Plastic Barricades

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Alternative Rock band Plastic Barricades, from UK. Check out this band because they are amazing and do not forget to follow them in their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Plastic barricades are our favorite type of barricades, we've all knew this since we were kids. So it was just a matter of time.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We never really cared about trying to fit in a certain genre box, we like to explore music without those boundaries. That is why we do like the "indie" definition - it is just so broad and to me personally just means "honest" and "not following the trends".

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We definitely hung out together a lot in our previous lives.

4. Each band member favourite band?

That is the most difficult question ever. But I guess if we need to choose I will go with Radiohead, Dani will have to say Led Zeppelin, Jonas will pick Hendrix and Frazer will choose Dave Matthew's Band.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Inspiration usually strikes after reading a good book, watching a documentary or going to an art-show. But it also comes from our heated arguments about life and what this all means. London is a very inspiring place to be - just walk down the South Bank on a sunny day and you'll have a smash hit.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last London appearance was at the legendary Nambucca club, which is, by the way, in great shape. Lovely stage, lights and even a green room in the basement. Before that we've played a show in Glasgow's Buff Club with an incredibly cool band The Cairds.

7. Where would you like to act?

There are certain places around the globe that are very special for most musicians. But, to be honest, we are happy to play anywhere anytime, even if it's your living room (as long as the neighbors don't mind)

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We've always wanted to write a song with Chris Wall (ex-Air Traffic, Soft Bullets), he is one stunning singer and keyboard player. But everyone seems to be collaborating with Rhianna and Beyonce these days, so I guess that is inevitable.

9. Whom not?

We used to love Coldplay for their "Parachutes" and "Rush of Blood to the Head". But the thing they are doing now sounds disturbing. So they are not allowed on our "wannabe-collaborators" list anymore.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Luckily we've all played gigs in different bands since we were young and fearless teenagers, so stage fright was never a thing here in PB. However, I am constantly getting dreams about hiccups just minutes before playing Wembley or Madisson Square Garden. I guess that is a singer's worst nightmare. If you have stage fright and it is not a dream - imagine every single person in the audience naked. Then imagine what is going to happen when they all gonna jump to your uplifting songs!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

The honest ones. Those bands who play what they want to play and never look back or try to be somebody they are not. Like Radiohead. Or Biffy Clyro. Or The Shins!

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

After a gig at the Dublin Castle (not the actual castle in Dublin, just a boozer in Camden) couple of years ago, right after a gig, one fan offered me a thousand pounds for my guitar. He even had cash on him. "How dare you?" - i said to him and run away to the dressing room.

13. What do you think of your fans?

We love our fans! You know why? Because so many of them really care about the environment. They support different charities, from Oxfam and British Red Cross to RSPCA and Cancer Trust. They go and change the world for the better.
14. What do you think of our site?

Your site has a noble mission, keep doing what you do!
