Interviews: PRANX

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Pop Punk band PRANX, from Germany. Check out this band because they are amazing and do not forget to follow them in their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Bassist Rouven and guitarist Boris played in a band called Prank FanatiX before PRANX was formed. We always had problems with this name because people just couldn't remember it or spelled it wrong on flyers, ect. As we made a new start with a new drummer and new songs two years ago we decided to also change our name and make it shorter so it becomes easier for people that way. The original Prank FanatiX name was inspired by the term 'faith fanatics' in Green Day's song 'East Jesus Nowhere'.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We like to play Pop Punk because it's spreading an all around good vibe and doesn't take itself too seriously. It's nice to be that kind of band that's writing songs to make people feel like they're having a good time.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Rouven (bass, vocals) and Boris (guitar, vocals) knew eachother and also played in a band together before. They found drummer Marcel on facebook.

4. Each member favourite band?

Marcel: All Time Low/Paramore

Boris: Blink-182/Green Day

Rouven: Blink-182/Neck Deep

5. What bands have you inspired the most?

Musically it's definetely all those big Pop Punk bands like blink, All Time Low and also newer acts like Neck Deep or The Story So Far. Lyrically the inspiration comes from situation of our everyday life. Things you go through in every stage of your life or even things and problems we notice in other peoples' life around us can make perfect inspiration for song lyrics.

6. Where was your last gig?

Club Alpha 60 in Schwäbisch Hall (One of the most messed up old school punk clubs we ever played in)

7. Where would you like to act?

Warped Tour would be a dream come true!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Playing together with all those bands who inspired us to make music would definetely be awesome. Would be sick to open for blink-182 or Sum 41 one day!

9. Whorn not?

There's no one specific we wouldn't like to feature with. We're happy to work/play with everybody as long as they're doing things for the right reasons and are cool people to cooperate with.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Not really fright, but definetely some little excitement and nervousness. I don't think there's really a special trick or something about it, the best way to beat it is just face it and play as many live shows as you possibly can. The more routine and experience you get the less stage fright you will suffer from. Playing shows on a regular basis is the best way to beat it in my opinion.

11. What bands have you inspired the most?

Again I would say that's blink-182 and Green Day since they're the first two bands that we really listened to and made us get into this genre. I remember learning guitar by playing along to Green Day songs and learning all the songwriting basics by playing and kind of 'analyzing' all their songs.

12. What´s the weirdest thing a fan ever asked you for?

One time at a festival we were asked to write our names on a naked chest. Unfortunately it was a drunk guy and he had a whole bunch of chest hair which made the signing process not that easy.

13. What do you think fo your fans?

All in all we can say that there has never been a negative experience with peole who like our band. We appreciate everyone who spends the time and money to go to a show or supports local bands like us in any way, shape or form.

14. What do you think of our site?

Exactly the same what we said about fans, it's always nice to see that there are people who still give new bands a chance to show who they are. Unfortunately it's getting more and more unpopular to support the local music scene, so we're thankful for everyone who's still keeping it alive!

15. Something to add?

Thanks for the interview first of all! If you like, you can check us out at facebook.com/PRANXofficial to watch all our music videos and check regular updates.
