Interviews: SHIN

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Hardcore band SHIN, from Croatia. Check out this band because they are amazing and do not forget to follow them in their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

It just came out on one of our brainstorming sessions after rehearsal. We have chosen it because it is short, simple and it also has a nice meaning in Japanese language.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Each of us listens a lot of different music, but hardcore is the love and preference number one.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

I (Tea) knew Sole (guitar), Filip (guitar) knew Šuker (bass guitar), everybody met Matija (drums) on the first rehearsal etc. There were a lot of combinations before we started to play together.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Matija and Šuker say Nirvana, Sole likes 90's hardcore, Filip listens a lot of Danzig, Type O Negative and Joy Division at the moment, I listen a lot of post rock/hardcore and trip hop now, but if I have to choose one band, it is definitely Converge.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

For me (Tea) main inspiration are everyday struggle, own existential crisis, complicated relationships, state and world events and problems... Life mostly. Can't write of something that didn't happened to me (us) or influenced our lives.
6. Where was your last gig?

It was in Zagreb in fall, last (7th) memorial for Tuna (frontman of Mikrofonija) with our dear friends and colleagues Pičke Vrište, Pasi, Potpuno sami.  After that we were working on our new material.

7. Where would you like to act?

Simple, everywhere where people would like to see us.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Never thought about it, really. I'm still under the impression of playing Monte Paradiso festival with MDC last summer.  You could say that I lived my childhood dream in that moment and it was great. Maybe Converge is my next wish, that would be nice to happen (Tea).

9. Whom not?

Fascist and sexist scum, I don't have to explain why. It's common sense.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I had stage fright on first Shin gig, although I had quite number of gigs with my former band before that. Drank a few beers and that's it JUnfortunately, I don't have tips for straight edge crew.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

It's difficult to say 'cause our musical taste is very colorful, ,but people say that our music reminds them of Bane, Comeback Kid, Bounz The Ball, The Ghost Inside and bands like that.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Unfortunately weird stuff in our lives is not related with the band. Yet. J

13. What do you think of your fans?

We have respect for each person who supports us, comes to our gigs and listens our music.

14. What do you think of our site?

It is very informative, precise and it has nice design (it's readable on all devices, if you get me). Stay like that J

15. Something to add?

Check out our new material which is coming soon on Bandcamp and stay nice, clever and antifa!
