Interviews: Turncoat

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Hardcore band Turncoat, from USA. Check out this band because they are amazing and do not forget to follow them in their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?   

The name came about after a few months of trying on different names, none of which really fit. The group wanted something that stood up for something and ment something to us. Being sick of the way things are at home, in the scene, with people you know, and wanting to turn our back on all the bullshit and do things our own way, and countless other reasons made us all look at each other when the name first got thrown out and say THATS IT!  

2.Why did you want to play this genre?   

Hardcore has never been a fashion scene for us. its never been the "cool thing" to do. Its something that sounds and feels right. Its what we like, and its honest.  

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?   

Its funny, the line up we are now. Jim and Nick knew each other before this band, but didnt know the rest of us. BUT Keith and Austin knew eachother before this band started. so somehow we all gravitated to each other and are all super close now.  

4. Each band member favourite band?

Nick: Ghost 

Jim: Rotting Out 

Keith: KING DIAMOND 

Austin: From first to Last/Cryptopsy  

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?   

What doesnt inspire us? haha Everything you deal with on a day to day basis. The bullshit and the struggles that everyone goes through. We just keep it real with ourselfs and just say it how it is.  

6. Where was your last gig?   

Detroit MI with WALLS OF JERICHO  

7. Where would you like to act?  

We would love to play any where over seas. I really want us to go to Australia soon.  

8. Whom would you like to feature with?   

Honestly we just wanna do shit with the homies in DROWNING and LIONHEART. I would not say no to TUI / TURNSTILE / Madball though  

9. Whom not?   

JUSTIN BIEBER.....he knows why  

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?   

Id just pretend that its practice. I just imagine were in a garage playing to just ourselfs and no ones around. But i really like awkward situations so i have always enjoyed that feeling you get when you get in front of alot of people  

11. What bands have inspired you the most?  

Its so crazy we pull from such a vast pool of musical influence its hard to pick just a few bands. its gotta be narrowed down to anything from MADBALL/ TERROR to SEPULTURA / Metallica  

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?    

SKIP i have nothing lol.  

13. What do you think of your fans?  

Every single person that has come up to us and had something go to say about us, thats bought something, the people that have been putting on for us since day one are the real mvps. None of this happens without them.  

14. What do you think of our site?  

I think you guys cover a vast array of what people consider hardcore today. You guys keep relevant information and get the word out about so many bands bigger and smaller. Keep it up!
