News: CAPSIZE: 'A REINTRODUCTION: THE ESSENCE OF ALL THAT SURROUNDS ME' OUT JULY 22; PREMIERES "XX (SEW MY EYES)" MUSIC VIDEO‏

Equal Vision Records' Capsize will release A Reintroduction: The Essence of All That Surrounds Me on July 22. Today, the Southern California-based post-hardcore outfit is also debuting the first track from the album. The music video for "XX (Sew My Eyes)" can be seen now at capsizemerch.com, where album pre-orders are also now available and include an extremely limited edition version of black vinyl (limited to 100). A tour exclusive vinyl variant of gold with black splatter (limited to 500), and a yet-to-be revealed online variant (limited to 400) will be available at a later date. All pre-orders include an instant MP3 download of "XX (Sew My Eyes)".
"The song is about the idea of wanting to move on from a moment, person or cycle in life, but feeling like your actions that leave you unexplainably content in discomfort make up who you are, and battling that in your head," reveals vocalist Daniel Wand. "It isn't about one certain thing, just the fear that you can't change fast enough in your own eyes."
A Reintroduction: The Essence of All That Surrounds Me features a more prominent post-hardcore sound than on the band's debut, The Angst In My Veins, with the incorporation of clean singing throughout. The new album, which was recorded in Atlanta, GA at Glow In The Dark Studios with producer Matt McClellan (The Devil Wears Prada, Being As An Ocean), showcases the band's undeniable energy and intensity - and signature darkness. Lyrically exploring personal demons and vulnerability, as well as love and loss, and musically exhibiting an impressive blend that ranges from driving, in-your-face chaos to unexpectedly ambient, dreamlike soundscapes - A Reintroduction: The Essence of All That Surrounds Me pushes the band into new musical territory, while remaining true to their roots.
"For this album, I wanted to write lyrics that I felt like I needed to hear, or would have liked to have heard at certain times in my life that I have only just recently worked through enough to put into words. The title represents what the album does for the band, and me personally. It's a reintroduction of who we are as a band, in reference to the things that have led to this point in my life," shares Daniel.
"This record does more for me and my self worth than anything I've ever touched before. Everything from the lyrics to the songs themselves are a musical embodiment of my interests and personality and I love that I get to put that out there for people to listen to and be involved with. Right before going into the studio, I told one of my best friends that the most important thing about this record was that it needed to be something that if I heard when I was at my most impressionable point, it would've made me desperate to make a band. I think I did that. And I think if I had this record when I was growing up it would've led me to exactly where I am today."
The Angst In My Veins debuted at No. 13 on the Billboard New Artist Chart, No. 27 on the Hard Rock Chart and No. 53 on the Independent Artist Chart. The non-stop touring following its release landed Capsize at No. 5 on Bandsintown's list of artists with the most tour dates in 2015, and included US runs with the likes of Silverstein, Senses Fail, Being As An Ocean, Defeater, '68, and Counterparts, as well as multiple tours throughout Europe/UK, as well as their first ever tours in Japan and Australia.
This Summer, the band will perform on the second half of the Vans Warped Tour, from July 17 to August 13. The band will also be doing a '90 Days To Warped Tour' social media takeover on all of the tour's official accounts tomorrow, May 21, beginning at 2pm ET.
"For me, being on Warped Tour is proof that you can chase your own dream and not take no for an answer, not settle, and not let anyone convince you there's a better life possible for you outside of what you feel the most passionate about. It's a rewarding feeling that I didn't ever expect. I'd like people to know that when they come see us, they will get the real deal. Whether 5 or 500 people are watching us, we are still going to play as hard as we can and share what we've created in a pure form - and hopefully earn a lot more fans and friends through that."
Capsize is comprised of Daniel Wand (vocals), Andrew Tamayo (drums), Ryan Knowles (guitar), and Nicolas Lopez (guitar). All upcoming tour dates can be found below.
