Interviews: Belle Noire

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Post-Hardcore/Rock band Belle Noire, from USA. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name “Belle Noire", did you planned it or came out just like that?

The band name existed before I joined the band. It was actually our first Bass player-Kenny's Brainchild. Loosely he was going for "black beauty”

2. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Dan and I (Joey) have been Friends since the beginning of high school and have been jamming together since, and Sergio, Sal, and Mike also go back to High School and have also been jamming in bands together since.

3. Each band member favorite band?

Joey: Thrice

Dan: Doesn't think on that spectrum

Sal: Dredg

Sergio: Circa Survive

Mike: Deftones

4. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

For me it would be experiences, from my past, or inspiring things I have  seen. Good or bad. Sometimes a really moving part of a movie will stir up  some emotions and inspire a song.

5. Where would you like to act, festival, country...?

Worldwide! lol We would love to do a warped tour, We'd love to tour internationally.

6. Whom would you like to feature with in a song?

I´d love Teppei from Thrice to come lay down some guitar leads in a song,

7. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

In my younger years sure! For me, I'd close my eyes and really focus on  some of the guitar parts, Also while the eyes are closed, I feel like I feel the  songs more. As time has passed, I like to connect with the audience, and try  to balance the eyes closed/eyes open time

8. What bands have inspired you the most to start with this band?

We love O'brother and Moving Mountains a lot. Lots of reverb and ambient texture paried with alternative songwriting.

9. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Not sure but we have a few fans who love to bring us donuts. And we never oppose that idea.

10. What can you say about your upcoming album “What it Means to Be”?

For me (Joey) lyrically I let a lot of things about my past go on this record. Wrote songs about people and events that I can truly let go of now.  For me it's a very personal record. Musically we all challenged ourselves to write the best songs possible. It's never about one flashy part. It's always what's best for the song within the band. And working with Dryw Owens really captured the sound we are trying to achieve.

11. Favorite track off the album?

They all are like children to me haha hard to pick one favorite because they all mean so much to me. It's a dynamic record. Very excited to release it.

12. Something to add for your fans and our fans?

Come July 15th we can't wait to release this record that has taken the better part of 2 years!! very thankful to all who have stood with us.
