Interviews: Sabretooth

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Deathcore band Sabretooth, from USA. Check out this band because they are amazing and do not forget to follow them in their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We played with a lot of names, but Sabretooth really speaks how aggressive we are and the lesser of fucks we truly give. Savage style. You know?

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Myself (Wesley), Justin and Devon were all big fans of this genre of metal .We like a lot of different music but we wanted to mix Wesleys rap style with Devon and Justins thrashy, heavy hitting sound into one giant form of what we call Trap Metal but I don't think we've fully shown how far we can take it truly.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Wesley and Devon have been best friends and musical partners for many years before this. We met Justin in the mist of it all (as we were trying to form Sabretooth) and he's became a brother to us along with Nico and Ryan.

4. Each band member favorite band?

Wesley: Chelsea Grin, Upon A Burning Body

Ryan: Mega Death, Trivium

Devon: Issues, Slipknot

Nico: Iron Maiden

Justin: Volumes,  Veil Of Maya

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Our recent E.P was Lyrically based on emotions I have held onto from childhood about my parents and old friends and problems with mental disorders. Musically our music is inspired by the tone of emotion I give off. We like the music to push the point across.

6. Where was your last gig?

The last show we played was Main Stage at GameChanger World with the 10 Year Sumerian tour w/ Born Of Osiris, Upon A Burning Body, After The Burial, Erra, and Bad Omens. It was the best experience ever and we're excited to be back on the Main Stage with the Common Vision Tour w/ The Acacia Strain,  Oceano, Knocked Loose & more!

7. Where would you like to act?

Our Personal goals are very strict. We have our minds set to them and no one and nothing will stop us from these dreams. Our goal is to work as hard as possible and maybe be noticed and be able to play either Mayhem Fest, Impericon, Warped Tour or just a tour with our favorite bands one day.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We'd love a tour with Chelsea Grin, Upon A Burning Body, Veil Of Maya, Volumes, After The Burial, and some others. We'd truly love to have Alex Koehler on a song, or Brandon Butler or Danny Leal! These vocalists have such a way of pronunciation and styles of vocals that are so distinguished and unique it'd fit our style a lot!

9. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Everyone really gets a bit frightened on stage you never know what can happen and being a bit frightened can make or break your performance the crowd picks up on your energy so easy.

Honestly your first time on a stage you should (before getting on) jump around, get hyped, remember these people aren't judging they're enjoying. Use that energy to put on the best show you can. Remember don't just play a show. PUT ON A SHOW. $5 or $20 People paid to get in the venue so give them hell.  Send them home remembering your name.

10. What bands have inspired you the most?

Definitely Chelsea Grin, Veil Of Maya, Issues, linkin Park, Volumes, Upon A Burning Body, After The Burial, even bands like Blink 182, Simple Plan, Pierce The Veil  and Rappers like Dvsr, Common, Nas, Biggie, 2Pac, NWA, Future, 2 Chains and many more.

11. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Honestly the weirdest thing a fan has asked us for was to sign a Tee Shirt and take a picture with him after cause you know...We're just some dudes from Westchester, NY who honestly just sit around doing nothing but loser stuff, School, Work, Skating, Camp Fires, Hiking... like someone actually wanted a memory of us. It meant a lot to us!

12. What do you think of your fans?

VICIOUS!!!! These people just get crazy in the pits, and jump all over each other. Sadly it's not even people from our home area. It’s like Upstate, NY, NJ, CT, NH, VT, and Mass. But I love the enthusiasm, and it gives me a drive to keep going. A lot of people say there's too much cursing which could be toned down a bit haha, but mainly everyone loves our sound, how direct we are, and how simply fun our shows can be!

13. What do you think of our site?

Honestly I like all the things you guys feature on the site.it introduces us to new bands to me and my friends. We also seen some great news and stories haha. We'd love to see more from the site! We're truly honored to be on it! Thank you guys for the chance!!

14. Something to add?

I really want to thank a lot of people here. I want to thank Frankie from Emmure. I met him in NY once at a show and had him read some lyrics and he helped me a lot!! I want to thank Etienne Sin for his vocal lessons MANY years ago I watched his videos and used them learn how to do what I now love doing. I've learned a lot more in the years but I also want to thank Barry from Manifest Records for giving us the chance to do this. I want to thank Gunnar Morales of Rip Co. I want to thank Alex Lord of Life Over Death apparel. I want to thank all of our parents for all the support. I want to thank all our friends at home for supporting even though they don't like our music! Honestly everyone who listens is our biggest thank you. Make sure you catch us at our next dates around the area and steal that mic from me and lets get wild! * All dates available on Facebook, Instagram, Bandsintown, Tumblr ETC...* And a huge thank you to Breathing The Core!
