Interviews: A Step To Live

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore/Djent band A Step To Live, from Chile. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?  

Yeah, before A Step To Live we have another name called "White Lips Madness" and well, that was a fail, Dany become to search new musicians and it works. The first thing that we've done was choose the name of the band and the name of our first EP (that was a piece of shiet hahaha). And we think that we need a name that people could always remember and mean something special ... in these moment we was died as band haha , A Step To Live was the name, 'cause we've need to reborn again.  

2.Why did you want to play this genre?  

Well , we think about the music and... is step by step becoming easier and sound all the same. We wanna get different to te rest of metal bands so in these moment Dany say "guys i wanna do some different of post hardcore - metalcore bands and something different to our first EP...i wanna do something more technical" more ... like this  

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?  

Yeah Diego and Dany haha ... they meeted in the primary school at 8-9 years old i guess  

4. Each band member favourite band? 

Dany: I don't have a favorite band ,'cause I listen every type of music all days ...but I like some much mathcore bands like Oceans Ate Alaska, Architects , After The Burial ,etc 

Diego: Pixies and The Fall Of Troy haha Ale : let me think... Dir en Grey XD 

Joaco: I just like Melodic Deathmetal haha  

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?  

Hmm...I writte about the bad o good situations what happend in the world or the things that i see everyday and how you can resolve that.

6. Where was your last gig?  

It was over 4-5 months , it was a really shit 'cause 2 members leaves the band 5 hours before the show and at 02:00 AM we've are searching musicians to get into the show hahaha finally we've to improve music, 'cause the musicians that we find can't play the songs... the people say that we sound really good haha they say us the "CHON of Plaza de Armas" hahahaha  

7. Where would you like to act?  

We think that will be Vans Warped tour, leads and reeding festival...and Rock Am ring that would be awesome! We sure that we will play in these stages someday  

8. Whom would you like to feature with?  

We like to be in stage with bands like Veil Of Maya, After The Burial , Oceans Ate Alaska, Avenge The Heartache and As Daylight Fades, 'cause in Avenge The Heartache and As Daylight Fades they are a good mates and very funny haha that show would be cool  

9. Whom not?  

Tribute bands haha , We don't hate them but...we don't want to listen the same music all time, it's like you have an album in your phone or your computer and you paid an non original band to listen the same that you have in your phone or your computer but 10 times worst  

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?  

HAHAHA THE MOST OF OUR SHOW'S WE SUFFERED BROKEN STRINGS! or the sound man can't make sound the mic's hahaha , but we take that like a joke haha that things will ever happend to all bands in the world  the best tip are if you can use 2 guitars per show that's will be awesome if you suffer a broken strings or get a pack of strings in your bag  

11. What bands have inspired you the most?  

I personally think that's Asking Alexandria , 'cause they was so young when sumerian records take them...and in two years they get in 1st place in the kerrang rank  

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?  

One day a girl fan send us a message telling "Oh Fuck my favorite band is A Step To LIFE" and we just laught hahahaha  

13. What do you think of your fans?  

We think that they are amazing ...we just have 1 year as band and they support us to get recognized in the world! and send us messages to cheer up , now we will send our merch and they already waiting for T-shirts haha it is just awesome ...WE LOVE THEM!  

14. What do you think of our site?  

We think that Breathing The Core would be a great magazine, 'cause it's a great site supporting new bands in all the world ... showing new music and new's about bands... tha's cool
