News: GATHERERS PREMIERES "A RECLUSE (ON 8MM FILM)" MUSIC VIDEO‏

New Jersey's Gatherers is premiering their new, self-directed music video for "A Recluse (on 8mm Film)" today on YouTube.com/equalvision. The song is off their latest album, Quiet World, which was released last Summer via Equal Vision Records.
"A Recluse (on 8mm Film)" is the last single we wanted to release off Quiet World," shares vocalist Rich Weinberger. "Collectively, we feel the song is dynamically the "black sheep", so to speak, amongst the other songs on the album and that it would provide a bit of closure and perhaps even bridge the gap as we transition into a new chapter as a band. Although we feel that lyrics and messages are always best left to interpretation, "A Recluse" is a dialogue that develops throughout the song with reckless abandon. It explores the idea of completely withdrawing from everyone you love and observing that withdrawal from the outside looking in."
"We hope that listeners will form their own perspectives of the song though, and for that reason we chose to visually strip it down to a single color," Weinberger discloses. "We didn't want to guide anyone with a narrative (in contrast to our previous video for "Ritual Flowers"). We unanimously felt the color red best represented the track."
The band has previously released two other captivating videos including the aforementioned "Ritual Flowers" (also self-directed) and "God Deluxe", both from Quiet World.
Gatherers has toured and shared stages with the likes of Every Time I Die, Counterparts, mewithoutYou, PUP, The Hotelier, Pianos Become The Teeth, Tiny Moving Parts, and Old Wounds. Most recently, they've just wrapped up a short US run with The Ongoing Concept and Hotel Books. Gatherersreleased their first EP Postcards in March 2012, followed by their debut full-length Caught Between a Rock and a Sad Place in June 2013, both under the band’s original moniker of 'Gatherer'. The band is comprised of Rich Weinberger (vocals), Adam Cichocki (drums), Matt Popowski (bass), and Austin Lipinski (guitar).

Quiet World is available in select indie stores, through MerchNOW, from the band on tour, and via digital retailers such as iTunesbandcamp andAmazonMP3.
