News: Revenge of the Psychotronic Man Honour Artist Marcel Duchamp's Cross-Dressing Alter-Ego In New Video‏

Manchester thrash-punks Revenge of the Psychotronic Man are pleased to reveal the raucous new video for brand new track ‘Rrose Sélavy (To Make A Toast To Life)’ which fans can download for free via Bandcamp here.

They might have their tongues firmly planted in their cheeks on occasion, but there’s also serious side to the breakneck punk that RPM are peddling. Scratch beneath the surface, or leaf through their lyrics sheets, and you’ll see references to political commentator Owen Jones, authors Paulo Coelho, Mark Twain and Helen Keller plus controversial artist Ai WeiWei.

Rrose Sélavy, the title of their latest single, is a reference to the cross-dressing alter-ego of French surrealist artist Marcel Duchamp who the band quote in their album sleeve: "I like living, breathing better than working...my art is that of living".

The lyrics themselves are an urgent political call to arms as vocalists Davies and Woods fire off high velocity pleas in gruff succession, begging; "invest in the arts, invest in the thinkers...human rights cannot be relinquished...Big Society should be for us all, so march on the streets till the Tories fall."

The video was shot by Mark Richards and Julian Wallinger at this year’s 2016 Manchester Punk Festival and gives a ripping insight into the sweaty, circle-pit-fuelled chaos that RPM bassist Andy Davies has had a hand in creating as part of the organisational collective behind the event every year since the festival began.

The track is the latest to be taken from their third full-length album, the Alan Partridge homaging ‘Colossal Velocity’, which will be released via TNSrecords on 15th July 2016. The album is available on vinyl and CD along with several bundle deals. The vinyl is on two variants; Clear (100) and Sea Blue (200). Fans can pre-order the record now at: http://www.tnsrecords.co.uk/
