Interviews: Eight Days

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Hardcore band Eight Days, from UK. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out like that?

The band used to be called “Eight Days From Sunday”, we thought of it as a goofy pop punk name (when we used to be a band that played blink-182 covers and only played 2 times a year to our friends) but as the years went on and we took it seriously, the style changed, we changed and so we decided to shorten the name

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

2 years ago we started taking this band seriously, and from then to now we’ve come such a long way, when we first picked up instruments we never thought we’d be making songs like this (if any songs at all) but here we are, its an ongoing ride and it keep getting better

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We did, we’re all very old friends from school, James our bassist wasn’t a part of the band though until last year, having him on board is great though, things click so much more easily when you’re working with your friends, even better with your close friends you’ve known forever

4. Each band member’s favourite band?

Ben (Guitar/Vocals) - Green Day/Defeater/Norma
Jean Lewis (Drums) - The Story So Far/Brand New/Basement
James (Bass) - Cohered and Cambria/Three Days Grace

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

The overall subject matter and meaning behind these songs are there are far better things you could be doing with your time than coming home from the job you hate, watching TV/playing on your Xbox and going to sleep, get out and do something worthwhile

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last show was a local show in London, it was a great turnout, lots of jumping in the crowd, sweat and shouting, it was awesome

7. Where would you like to play?

We’d love to play in Scotland and Europe as we haven't yet but that’s all in the diary for next year!

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We’d love to play some shows with all of the above, an arena show with Green Day wouldn’t be bad, but realistically, maybe a show with No Bragging Rights/Comeback Kid? Saw them last year and it was brilliant

9. Whom not?

I don’t think there’s anyone we wouldn’t want to play a show with, maybe Justin Bieber, new album’s not that bad though to be fair!

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Not really stage fright, sometimes there’s a few jitters if we haven’t played a show for a while or if we’re on a show with a big band, the best way to overcome it is to get up and give it your all

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

I think bands like While She Sleeps, they’re a big inspiration and reminder that with the right attitude you can build something from scratch, work your ass off and get back what you put in, not only them, so many other bands in within this genre too

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We still consider ourselves a fairly small band, we have a lot of great friends we’ve met through being in this band who come to see us at our local shows and we have had a few people catch us further out but the amount of people coming out is small so we consider them all friends, not fans

13. What do you think of your fans?

We’re thankful to anyone that has an interest in what we’re doing, we have had a guy from Portugal buy a shirt from our website, which still to this day blows our minds, awesome!

14. What do you think of our site?

Very useful and informative, I just found out Capsize are doing a tour and their new album is streaming, so thanks for that!

15. Something to add?

Thanks a lot for having us
