Interviews: Fero Lux

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore/Post-Hardcore band Fero Lux, from USA. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We were having the worst time selecting a name. We all wrote a bunch of shit down and put it in a hat. We kept saying, "next one we pick is our name". And each one we picked, half of us had gripes with. David's friend used Lux Fero as her facebook name at the time, so he asked if she wouldn't mind stealing it. It sounded weird and mysterious, obscure, and it's Latin, so why the hell not?

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We did. Our guitarist David had the idea to form a mathcore band. We eventually all added our own steez--we'd like to think we're not a typical mathcore/post hardcore band. But what do we know?

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We all mainly knew each other from around. We had a slightly different line up from when we started, but we were all from other bands and knew each other from around. It was bound to happen at some point.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Mine would have to be Boys Night Out and Glassjaw. BNO just put out a new EP and it is incredible. David says "At The Drive-In... today at least." Ben says Smashing Pumpkins or Weezer. Which are both incredible choices. And Nick says Tool and Rush because he's "prog as fuck".

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Social injustices. We'd like to keep writing about things that are happening around the world. So many things get left unsaid, so we feel we should spend less time writing about ourselves and more time trying to get people to open their eyes.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last show was recently in central Florida. A small town called Vero Beach. We always have a great time there.

7. Where would you like to act?

Anywhere that'll have us. 8. Whom would you like to feature with? Kendrick Lamar. Because I think that would be so fresh.

9. Whom not?

Total creeps.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I certainly have. I'm a very self-conscious person and don't like people looking at me. So I face away from the crowd a lot. But sometimes I couldn't care less and try to forget about anything other than having fun with my dudes. I guess my advice would be to always have fun and not care about what others think.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

For me, it would certainly be Thursday. I've been a huge fan of them since I was

13. What do you think of your fans?

They were one of the first bands I'd heard that was writing about things that mattered. And they did it with emotion, through poetry. I've always admired them, and I think they're the reason I personally play music.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

An autograph. Like...why do you want me to ruin the cover art on this record? I'm literally no one.

13. What do you think of your fans?

I would never call anyone who listens to our band a "fan". I hate that term. We're not rockstars and we're so grateful for anyone who takes the time to listen to us, or say nice things. I think anyone who has been there for us for the past five years keeps this band going.

14. What do you think of our site?

Breathing The Core? It's rad. I follow you guys on FB too. We appreciate getting to be a part of it!

15. Something to add?

Thanks to whoever is reading this. We can't thank you enough. Check out our latest record "NO REST" on Spotify or iTunes.
