Interviews: Here Lies The Hero

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Post-Hardcore band Here Lies The Hero, from USA. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Here Lies the Hero was actually two different bands that came together. One half of the band had already decided on the name Here Lies the Hero, which was referencing Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. Later on it was decided to keep the band name because for everyone in the band, being in the band itself was therapeutic, so we deemed that the "hero" lies within the music for us.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Honestly, based on our collective influences the music just came out that way.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Not really, no. Chaneys and Jaxon knew each other from high school choir. Everyone else was met when they were sought after to be on the band.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Chaney: Taking Back Sunday,

Layne: The Dear Hunter.

Jaxon: Saosin.

Blake: Yellowcard.

James: My Chemical Romance.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Really it's whichever current struggles we're facing in life.

6. Where was your last gig?

Pamona, CA at Characters Bar on The Homecoming Tour.

7. Where would you like to act?

Perform?? Like in the bedroom, or...? Yeah, the bedroom.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

As a band we'd probably like to play with Blink 182 because their new record slays, and we're super jealous of A Day to Remember... We think we could take A Day to Remember.

9. Whom not?

The Mountain a.k.a. Sir Gregor Clegane... We smash guitars, that guy fucking smashed the head of the Prince of Dorne. Fuck that.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I [James] definitely have. I got over it by a concoction of beer and Red Bull. Later it was simply playing music I was confident in and with members I was comfortable with. I mean really I just imagine them naked, which isn't hard at all because I've seen them all naked...

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

There are too many bands to list. There are so many hardworking bands famous and local that persevere against barriers that are common to them. We strive to do the same.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

To be a part of my [Jaxon] family. Not sure if he wanted to be adopted, or what.
13. What do you think of your fans?

Well up until we returned to our hometown in Midland, Texas, we wouldn't have known how to answer this. After three years we played to every single friend, fan, and family member, in a 30 mile radius. It was the most overwhelming show ever. We witnessed true support, and gained fuel to continue what we do forever. Feeling loved as a band is the best feeling in the world.

14. What do you think of our site?

We think it's great that you venture out to bands that could really use recognition. It gives others an opportunity to learn about those out there that sacrifice a lot to make music their life. In short, 10/10 would bang.

15. Something to add?

Our first full-length is in the works! So keep a look out for updates on that. Also, can we borrow like $20? We'll hit you back on the first. We swear. Oh, and jet fuel can't melt steel beams. 9/11 was an inside job.
