News: HELLO BEAR 'I Don't Know....Its Fun Though, Isn't it?', out 11th November
Hailing from the East Coast, Hello Bear calls its fans to appreciate life. As the band declares, “look up, smile, dance your legs off and engage in fun rock, with high fives, confetti and fireworks!” The UK Powerpop / Pop Rock quartet are here with their stunning new EP, I Don't Know...It's Fun Though, Isn't It?, out Friday 11th November. All established musicians in their own right, the band features Luke Bear (Vocals, Guitar, Keyboards), Mary Bear (Guitar), Tom Bear (Bass) and Daryl Bear (Drums), who are not only confident performers, but also dexterous songsmiths. The band have honed their craft shaping an infectious sound that pulls from everyone from Blink182 and Descendants, through to Weezer and Pavement.
Now with a glut of well received DIY releases under their belts, spanning support from the likes of BBC Introducing, BBC Radio 6, and Amazing Radio, and shows with Los Campesinos, Coasts, Darwin Deez, The Futureheads, and The King Blues, Hello Bear are about to release their most exciting material to date. With Lee Batiuk (Deaf Havana, Trash Boat, Hopeless Records) at the helm, the foursome have truly refined their sound, and their new EP I Don't Know...It's Fun Though, Isn't It?, is nothing short of exceptional. Their new single and opener, We Held Hands Once, But Then She Got Embarrassed, impeccably balances insanely catchy hooks with stomping groove, while Mmm Cheque Please! seeps into your pours with its hypnotic pull and contagious refrain. Dirty Weekend continues in rich vein to reinforce this absolute stellar record with its alluring vigour and nifty structure, and Attack Hug draws the EP to a close in supreme style, yet again illustrating the quartet’s deft ability to deliver another highly engaging slab of pop rock perfection. Fuelled by lucky charms, Hello Bear are taking things to the next level, strapping on jet packs, and are ready to high five the stars...
