News: SCOWL: Brooklyn Grind Pessimists To Raid East Coast On Summer 2016 Tour This Week
New York-based pessimists SCOWL will take their noise-drenched powerviolence/grindcore to deviant audiences down the sweltering East Coast on a short run of tour dates this week.
SCOWL's Summer 2016 Tour sees the band ripping down the East Coast this week, beginning amidst the Democratic melee in Philadelphia this Friday, July 28th. Shows follow in Baltimore on Sunday, July 30th and Richmond on Monday the 31st, with one show still trying to come together for this Saturday, July 29th.
SCOWL's most recent release, Quemés Una Iglesia Para Encender La Mota was issued in 2015, recorded and mixed by Nikhil Kamineni (Mountain God, ex-Archon, ex-Alkahest) and mastered by Will Killingsworth. The band has another new EP in the works, also recorded by Kamineni, with info to follow shortly.

Containing current members, vocalist/noisemonger Chris Dialogue (I say Fuck, ex-Alkahest, ex-Archon, ex-Mountain God), guitarist Zack Birmingham, bassist Ivan Khilko (Drugs Of Faith, Immanent Voiceless, ex-Archon), and drummer Frank Huang (Pit Full Of Shit), SCOWL deploys a gnarled brew of treacherous grind violence tanked with doses of experimental and harsh noise, employing methods marinated in the runoff created by the works of Extreme Noise Terror, Phobia, Infest, Spazz, Full Of Hell, and other artisans of the blastbeat. The bleak aspects of the human condition are delivered with enough black humor to keep things from getting too serious, but the music itself shows compassion for virtually not a thing in existence.
