News: Hellions Opera Oblivia Debuts at #4 On ARIA Chart

UNFD are extremely proud to announce that Hellions' critically acclaimed new album, Opera Obilvia, has debuted at #4 on the ARIA Chart - the highest chart position of their career. Opera Oblivia is the third top 10 ARIA result of 2016 for the flourishing label after Canberra's Hands Like Houses reached #7 in March with their brilliant new album, Dissonants and Architects landed at #2 in May with their powerfully heavy new album All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us.

Hellions' highly anticipated third opus has already been declared a genre great by the wider music community for its theatricality, emotion, innovation and confidence. More than just a collection of songs,Opera Oblivia is a musical experience that was the coveted Feature Album on triple j, with the grandeur on display likened to that of British rock Legends Queen

Opera Oblivia has also scored full marks in the likes of Blunt Mag and Kerrang! who say proclaim the album to be "one of the most ambitious genre-splices ever dreamed up" while Rolling Stone have declared the album as "bombastic, bold with more sonic plot twist than many of their peers manage in a lifetime." The band celebrated the release of Opera Oblivia with a wild sold out show in Melbourne, and will round out their tour with a sold out hometown show in Sydney and Brisbane.

Hellions, their third album Opera Oblivia is a glorious celebration and forensic examination of everything that makes being alive worthwhile – from high to low, they say, the nearest thing any of us have to a shortcut to happiness is the necessity of being true to oneself.

Structured like a theatrical presentation, Opera Oblivia is the Sydney quintet’s defining statement to date, a brave masterpiece that lays bare the colossal scope of both their ambition and talent. Recorded at Karma Sound Studios in Thailand, frontman Dre Faivre, guitarists Gravolin and Josh Campiao, bassist Chris Moretti and drummer Anthony Caruso have, alongside producer Shane Edwards and collaborations from Northlane riffmaster general Jonathon Deiley, Ocean Grove’s Sam Bassal and Duane Hazell of Heroes For Hire, stretched themselves like never before, taking the flashes of glory that peppered Die Young(2014) and Indian Summer (2015) and expanding them into a fully-formed project that vibrates with energy and joy.

These songs are bangers, basically, even if they don’t always make sense. Just like life.

Opera Oblivia is available now on 24Hundred and iTunes.
