Interviews: The End At The Beginning

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore  band The End At The Beginning, from Italy. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

The idea came up one day with our very first singer Marco, who by the way made our awesome artwork for the album. We had our first live show to do and we didn't have a name yet, so after a couple of horrible names we kept The End At The Beginning because of this sense of circularity that we believe everyday's life have.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Because breakdowns are the best way to show power in a metal band. Just kidding, you know, but we simply liked this strange way (at that time) to do metal, shifting between clean choruses and heavy parts and breakdowns.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We actually did, at least in part. Lorenzo, Andrea and Filippo live in the same city nearby Bologna, so they already knew each other. Nicola and Alessandro joined the original trio later, so we became friends easily in a couple of months.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Ehm...that's tough for us to have a favourite one. We listen to so many different musical styles that we have like tons of bands we love, so we can't really answer to this question precisely.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We actually take inspiration from many metal artists we know and we listen to, but also pop, hardcore and rap artists have a pretty big role in this. Most of them are underground ones, too.

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last gig was on July 9 with Strains, Lies Of Nazca, Turn Off Your Heart and Ambertown, and we've never got so many tech problems as that night. It was such an unfortunate night, the light went off like 3 times on stage before our show and the setlist was cut from 30 mins to 10, but still remains one of our best show we've played because of the situation. It was like a hc punk show, we didn't have much time to express musically ourselves, so we did it physically. The kids totally flipped out and started crowdsurfing, and we're talking about like 50 people going mad. We can't wait to have tech problems again!

7. Where would you like to act?

We think that performing at Waken Open Air it's a great goal for any metal band on the planet, that festival it's something huge and fantastic.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We would really like to perform in a European tour with August Burns Red, that would be a dream and a very big step for us artistically and musically.

9. Whom not?

We personally don't like bands that want what they don't deserve at all, even if they're big or small. We are pretty genunine guys and most of the times we help friends and people who need help, so we don't like people who acts as 'kings of the world'.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

We never suffered of stage fright, for real. We always played with the adrenaline pumping, but never being blocked on stage by that, and that's because we always played shows knowing that it's one of our favourite things we like to do related to music.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

There are many bands that inspired our style, but we think that one of the most important is August Burns Red for sure. We started listening them (and we still do) not only musically but also lyrically, even if we're no strictly related to Christianity.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We don't have met any crazy fan yet, but we had a couple of fans tattoing lyrics of our songs. This may be not considered 'crazy', but it's still a particular thing we're proud of.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Fans will always be the best thing in making music, no matter if you have a couple of them or ten thousand, so it is for us.

14. What do you think of our site?

Pages and sites who publicize undergound music are essential for music and band's growth. Without people like you, bands will not be noticed by bigger audiences and labels, so keep up with the good work guys!

15. Something to add?

We've been honored to be featured in your pages with this interview, and we thank you for the time you dedicated to our band and writing all of these questions for us. Thank you so much guys!
