Interviews: Lucid AfterLife

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Rock  band Lucid AfterLife, from Canada. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Nat: I am dead. I die everyday and I am reborn everyday. I live in the AfterLife as a man who has no past, only a present. I am Lucid in the moment. This is one of the meanings behind the name Lucid AfterLife.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We just get together and play music from our hearts, it always sounds different, rarely is it the same genre as the last song. Never have we tried to orchestrate ourselves into a certain package, we just do what we want when we want, whatever that may be at the time.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Lucid AfterLife came together like a Final Fantasy video game story, we picked up people along the way and also lost some, but every time someone new joined the outfit it was an amazing level up.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Matt: Queen and always will be.

Thom: That's super tough. I mean, I guess the band that most influenced me is Dream Theater.

Nat: Pink Floyd.

Miles: Ministry.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Nat: I hear things in my head, record them, show Thom, he demos, we kill it. Its more a release of the haunting than an inspiration.

6. Where was your last gig?

Middle of a park in East Vancouver, there was a dude on an electric unicycle front and center, was a far out crowd for sure.

7. Where would you like to act?

Any stage, anywhere, any time.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Matt: Die Antwoord.

Nat: I’m with our drummer, Die Antwoord for sure.

Thom: Who would I like to feature with? hmm Dawes. They are amazing and I love to play and harmonize on their tunes.

9. Whom not?

Thom: There isn't anyone I wouldn't jam with save any music whose purpose is to breed hate.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Thom: I've been performing since I was 3 so I guess I've never had Stage Fright per se. But I have played shows where I had to follow someone I truly admired and in order to get over those jitters I just told myself the crowd and the headliner are just people like me and we all are trying to commune with the groove. Whatever groove that may be.

Miles: Had stage fright ya. Just prepare as best you can, and let the music play you.

Nat: No… Never.. I’m Nat Jack

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Miles: Sex/ foreplay in a green room full of people including her husband.

Matt: Sign a dudes hanglow.

Thom: A guy asked me to paint my ass and butt print his car in Texas once. He had all these butt prints from bands he liked. And no one else in my band would do it so I went ahead haha. Was a bitch getting the paint off.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Nat: Rock is a tough racket, but the fans always have mood altering words to express, they are really the reason I keep going with this lifestyle. They are my family for sure

14. What do you think of our site?

If websites were post-apocalyptic bunkers we would surely try to get in with you guys during a zombie attack.
