Interviews: Unprocessed

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Progressive Metalcore band Unprocessed, from Germany. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We know that the Band Name is quit ironical because we have a very processed sound and our material we release isnt unprocessed in that way. But its more our progress as a band and the lyrical content that lead us to the band name "UNPROCESSED".

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We are all influenced by a lot of genres and styles of music but in the writing process we dont feel forced to hold us strict to the term "Progressive Metal". But in many cases it results by itself to bring in those influences. We do it subconsciously.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Nope not really. We knes us because we lived in the same place but werent such good or best friends like now

4. Each band member favourite band?

Well there is a lot! Examples: Katatonia, After the Burial, The Contortionist, Plini

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

A lot of Influences are bands and artists like Deftones, Tesseract, Monuments, Rush, Massive Attack, Guthrie Govan, The Contortionist, Opeth and  Incubus. But more influences us emotions, art and the nature or the world itself. A lot of our music sounds like a movie soundtrack. Thereby we want to express a lot more than just emotions. We want to create a place in your head...

6. Where was your last gig?

Our last Gig was a hometown show here in Wiesbaden. It was a lot of fun but really stressfull, too. Our vocalist Manuel was very ill and we played with our backup drummer and without our third guitarist. Its pretty hard sometimes because we live very distributed

7. Where would you like to act?

We would lice to act in the northern Countries like Sweden, Island or Norway. Its very inspiring for our music.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

At one day I would like to feature with a very special female voice. A male voice wouldnt be as special as a female voice because we have only male voices in our band.

9. Whom not?

They is no exclusion but it will be propably Lars Ulrich

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Remember who the performer is. The audience is there to see or hear you. And only you. It’s your gift, your expertise, your unique ability to make the role yours that got them out of the house on a rainy night. Of all the people in the room at that moment, you´re the kone wo know more about this character, this performance, this work, than anyone else. Let your mastery of the moment be your guide.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

A lot of Influences are bands and artists like Deftones, Tesseract, Monuments, Rush, Massive Attack, Guthrie Govan, The Contortionist, Opeth and Incubus

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Well the wierdest thing was someone who asked if the screaming vocals were made by a laptop because he said that a human couldnt do such vocals... We he was wrong

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our fans are pretty international. The most fans are living in the states and we live in Germany. Its redicolous! We have a few in Mexico, even in Peru. There are around the world and we stay in tourch with them consitantly!

14. What do you think of our site?

We love it. Its great to see a webzine doing a lot for the musicians. Its good to have support from around the world!
