Interviews: We Drown Poseidon

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore  band We Drown Poseidon, from Germany. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Our vocalist Jannick came up with the name WE DROWN POSEIDON. He had it in his mind for quite some time.

It means that you have to go your own way and not to accept your fate as given. When we collected some ideas this one caught our eyes. We liked this name more and more every day and still we love it.

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

...core is a very intense kind of music. You have all these extreme changes, vocal styles, breakdowns, polyrhythms  - it never gets boring and it is one of the best ways to express emotions.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

No, basically we got together through ads in social networks. We started in fall 2013. Since the beginning of 2016 we have a constant line up

4. Each band member favourite band?

Jannick (vocals): Blessthefall

Joerg (guitar): The Amity Affliction

Timo (guitar): All That Remains

Matthias (bass): Stick To Your Guns

Marvin (drums): Killswitch Engage

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Actually you can say everything that happens or had happened around us has a certain influence on our music. On the other hand also things that happen in our hearts are taken up.

6. Where was your last gig?

It was in Berlin in a venue called Nuke Club (K17)

7. Where would you like to act?

We would like to play on one of these big summer festivals (e.g. Wacken, With Full Force, Vainstream). So far we have only played in small or medium-sized clubs.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Adam D from Killswitch Engage – that would be intresting and for sure a real challenge for us

9. Whom not?

Sabaton or - as we would say – Sabber(ton)

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Before playing a show a certain degree of excitement is always present but fortunatley, stagefright is not an issue. The best things to avoid stagefright are: Practice your passages sufficiently – this counts for music, stagemoves etc. - learn your lyrics by heart. But if it all fails, then you should drink 2 Jaegermeister ;-)

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Parkway Drive, Asking Alexandria & Killswitch Engage – just to name a few.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

The strangest and also funniest thing happend to our vocalist when someone asked him :

"How did do you get this powerful voice? You're a little kid! You must have very big balls!"

13. What do you think of your fans?

Of course we happy about every single fan. Especially we would like thank our overseas fans (e.g. Indonesia, Brazil and the US). These guys know us only by streaming portals and we are still not shure how they have noticed us – but that's a great  thing.

14. What do you think of our site?

MoreCore reports about the most beautiful genre. You get news about famous core-bands and the support of little bands too. It's a must have to get news and a true treasure trove to find new music.
