Interviews: Light The Skies

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Post-Hardcore band Light The Skies, from UK. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

We planned it, it's a lyric from an August Burns Red song that was actually "Light Up The Sky", but we wanted 3 words so it clicked as soon as we heard

"Light The Skies".

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

We've always been interested in genre bending music, it's always something we've listened to, so we tried a bunch of different sounds, played what we thought was fun to play, mixed it all together and here we are.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Charlie (Guitarist) and Conor (Bassist) were friends before the band started, they go way back.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Will: Issues

Charlie: Don Broco

Sam: Tigran Hamaysan

Conor: Korn

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

We find other people's stories are quite Inspiring, we like to put ourselves in other people's shoes. What really inspires us is when we hear what we consider real ground breaking songs, that normally gets the ball rolling.

6. Where was your last gig?

We play a lot of shows in Birmingham, so our last show was at The Rainbow venue.

7. Where would you like to act?

We'd like to branch out a bit more and travel to places like Cardiff, Glasgow etc. We would also like to play festivals, that is one thing we haven't played a lot of.

Anyone from Steps

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

I don't think we've had stage fright very often, but being nervous is completely normal. Our advice would be to breathe and just enjoy the show.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Bring Me The Horizon, Don Broco and Issues. All 3 bands are massive

influences.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

We had a fan ask Will (Vocalist) to take a picture of her, not Will and her, just her at the show, people are strange sometimes...
