Interviews: Separating The Seas
In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore band Separating The Seas , from USA. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
AT: The name actually came from an August Burns Red song. I was trying to think of a name that represented the message I wanted to get across. That being, overcoming obstacles in your life. Nothing else I came up with worked as well.
2. Why did you want to play this genre?
AT: The reason we play metal is because of the energy it brings, whether in the practice space, or at shows. The community plays a major role in this as well.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
AT: I met Cameron when he was drumming for another band called "Vanquish The King" a little over a year ago. Jesse was a part of that band as well. When Cameron and I started the band earlier this summer, we brought in Jesse as lead guitar. We then met Travis through a mutual friend. Soon after, one of Cameron's friends, Gio joined to fill in the rhythm guitar position.
4. Each band member favourite band?
AT: Architects
JS: Thy Art Is Murder
GC: Russian Circles

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
AT: Lyrically, I derive from life experiences and my view of the world. I put a lot of emotion into what I write, and make sure there is a strong purpose.
CJ: There's not necessarily a certain person or thing that inspires me to write music. Ideas just come to me and I bust it out.
6. Where was your last gig?
AT: Our first show as an established band is actually this upcoming Tuesday. (November 29th) However, we are planning to tour spring break, and between now and then, playing as much as we possibly can.
7. Where would you like to act?
AT: My ultimate goal would be to play a European festival.

AT: We love playing shows no matter what, there's not anyone we wouldn't play with. Unless there were moral reasons not to.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
AT: Everyone experiences stage fright in the beginning, and to some extent you always will. The good news is, once you get on stage, it all goes away.

CJ: System of a Down
GC: System of a Down, Tool

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
AT: Well there was one time someone told us we should sound more like Breaking Benjamin, does that count?
13. What do you think of your fans?
CJ: We have one fan, and it keeps us cool at practice.
AT: Honestly, anyone who takes time out of their day to listen to our music and support us is what matters most.
14. What do you think of our site?
AT: Love it! Promoting lesser known bands is very important. I've been following the Facebook page for over a year now. We appreciate you including us on your website.
