Interviews: The 7th Crow

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Trash Metal/Metalcore  band The 7th Crow, from USA. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Zane:  Our name was derived from the nursery rhyme "one for sorrow". However we figured crows symbolized death and misfortune more so than magpies, which the nursery rhyme was originally based on. Also the lyrics of "one for sorrow" were modified slightly to be used for our intro song "Hype"

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

Jerry: Thrash Metal has been in my life as long as I can remember and its on of the few things that speak to my soul.

Zane: No other genre is able to hit my feels as hard a some of the bands in our influencing genres. Metalcore, Deathcore, Thrash... They are just so raw.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

Zane: Jeremiah, Jacob, and Jordan are all blood brothers, so they know each other pretty well. I've know Jordan since 5th grade. I moved to Colorado for 6 years, and after moving back he is one of my few original friends I still have out here. He also played bass in my first band, Clouds Below. Cody and Jeremiah were also in a band back in middle school and just happened to stay in touch, and now here we are.

4. Each band member favourite band?

Zane: SycAmour

Jeremiah: Crown The Empire, Sycamour, Avenged Sevenfold

Cody: Avenged Sevenfold

Jordan: SycAmour

Jacob: Avenged Sevenfold

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Zane:  I've always seen writing of any form as a way to communicate your truest feelings. Adding music to that makes the listener feel the emotion too, or so we hope. I guess that's mainly why I write.

Jeremiah: Music exists to inspire, the music we listen to and grew up with gave us inspiration to better ourselves and we just want to spread that.

Cody: Writing music is the best way to express a feeling or an idea in my experience, and watching that idea come to life is the greatest feeling in the world.

6. Where was your last gig?

Zane: So far we have been playing primarily at 3rd street pub in Bend, Oregon, debuting new songs from our first album, Primum Corvus, which is still in progress.

7. Where would you like to act?

Zane: The Red Rocks Amphitheater outside Denver, CO

Jeremiah: Lawthore Theater

Cody: Roseland Ballroom in New York

Jordan: Roseland Theater in Portland

Jacob: Really, anywhere outside of Oregon.

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

Zane: SycAmour

Jeremiah: SycAmour

Cody: Wage War

Jordan: SycAmour

Jacob: Realistically, probably Separating The Seas

9. Whom not?

Zane: I'm gonna say Avenged Sevenfold because I'm pretty sure Jerry and Cody would be starstruck to play with them... That would be embarrassing.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Cody: Stage fright is a natural thing while preforming, but in order to get out there and get yourself heard, sometimes you have to step out of your safe zone.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

Zane: Sycamour, Crown The Empire, Yuth Forever, La Dispute

Jeremiah: Avenged Sevenfold, Animals As Leaders, Attila, Primus

Cody: Avenged Sevenfold, Memphis May Fire, Wage War, Sycamour, I see Stars

Jordan: Avenged Sevenfold, Muse, Issues

Jacob: Avenged Sevenfold And Slipknot

12. What´s the weirdest thing a fan asked you for?

Jeremiah: In an old band me and Jordan had, the only person who watched the show asked me to sign her pacemaker.

13. What do you think of your fans?

Our fans are what we are making music for. We love every single one of them. Even the ones who don't know about us yet!

14. What do you think of our site?

This site is awesome. Its a great modern way to help get voices heard and projects a chance to come alive. The most support we can find is with eachother

15. Something to add?

Make sure to check keep us in mind as we get ready to drop our first album "Primum Corvus."
