Interviews: Hollower

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore/Post-Hardcore band Hollower, from USA. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?   

We sort of stumbled on it! Once we found out it wasn't being used by another band we decided that it was the name we should use moving forward.  

2.Why did you want to play this genre?   

There is a lot to be said about the intensity and melody that flow hand in hand when it comes to metal.  It's something we both agree can't be found anywhere else.  

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?   

We were in a band together that did some minor touring before breaking up.  

We hadn't talked in over a year, and when we came back together we almost immediately wrote the lyrics and vocal arrangements to the first Hollower song.  

We both knew that day something clicked and moved forward with the rest of the EP.  

4. Each band member favourite band?   

Born of Osiris and Korn are our collective favorite bands!   

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?   

While writing, we try to stray from listening to bands we typically end up sounding like.  

We both enjoy using artists like Keane, Bloodhound Gang, Imogen Heap and others to gather inspiration.  

6. Where was your last gig?   

Hollower may never play a show! We may decide to sometime down the road.  

7. Where would you like to act?   

If act means tour or play shows, we would love to eventually experience a European tour!  

8. Whom would you like to feature with?   

If feature means play a show or tour with, we would love to tour with After the Burial, Rancid, Korn, and Keane! 

9. Whom not?   

I think any bands that let their partying get in the way a tour would probably be annoying to deal with.  

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?   

We have to adjust from time to time, but it's important to remember that playing music is supposed to be fun! Your time on the stage is limited, so take the nervous energy you have and show people why your band should deserve to headline every show you play.  

11. What bands have inspired you the most?   

I would say All That Remains, As I Lay Dying, Mudvayne, and Breaking Benjamin are bands that have inspired us the most.  These are the bands that helped us "cross over" into the world of metal we exist in today.  

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?   

A fan asked us to pay almost double for a copy of the EP we just released.  I felt uncomfortable sending an invoice for the remaining amount they wanted to pay, but they were very persistent!  

13. What do you think of your fans?   

We are SUPER appreciative of anyone that hears us and enjoys what we are doing.  As an artist, you don't and shouldn't have any type of opinion about your fans other than a positive one.  They are the ones that allow you to do what you love, it's important to us to stay humble and thankful  

14. What do you think of our site?   

We love it! It's a great outlet to discover new music and new bands you might not come across otherwise.
