Interviews: Oryssa

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the  Melodic Metalcore  band Oryssa, from USA. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1. Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

Since our lead singer is of Indian hertiage, the name Oryssa came from a city in India which is actually called Orissa but we changed the i to y bc it looked better to us.

2. Why did you want to play this genre?

We wanted to play this genre bc we all influenced by metal, classic rock, and pop punk so we just combined them all.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

I (Tanner) knew Zack whos other guitarist before the band but either than that not really we all got together and we jammed and thats how it happened. 

4. Each band member favourite band?

Tanner: A Day to Remember.

Rohan: probably either Breaking Benjamin, Bring me the horizon or Incubus.

Zack: the Beatles, Led Zepplin, or Jimi Hendrix probably.

Nick: Muse and Avenged Sevenfold, and 

Ali: Periphery.

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Usually personal experiences and how we are feeling at that time influences what we write

6. Where was your last gig?

Fearcliff Skatepark

7. Where would you like to act?

Probably somewhere like the Fillmore or Baltimore Soundstage

8. Whom would you like to feature with?

A Day to Remember, Incubus, Avenged Sevenfold, or any band in the metalcore/pop punk genre would be amazing.

9. Whom not?

Justin Bieber.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

Me personally (Tanner) used to have terrible stage fright. What I did was either look at my hand and the fretboard and when i looked away i closed my eyes and by doing that for years I got used it but i am still afraid of messing up so i still get a little shakey.

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

For me (Tanner) probably Boston.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Can I have your sock.

13. What do you think of your fans?

They are one of the reason why we made this band, to form an outlet for people to go to when they feel a certain way or they just need something to relate to.
