Interviews: Take Today

In this new occassion we have had the opportunity to interview the Alternative Rock band Take Today, from UK. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.

1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?

from when the band first started we just sat down and brainstormed and managed to just come out with it, it was meant to be a temporary thing, but ended up being a permanent name, we think the name sucks, but hey oh we are stuck with it now!

2.Why did you want to play this genre?

Well growing up we have all listened to many types of different bands Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Muse etc and It doesn't feel like there is enough of this style of music within the music industry and we want to make music that we enjoy to play but to also to open up to an audience that are looking for something a bit different.

3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?

We studied music for 3 years together!

4. Each band member favourite band?

Paul: I have many bands i love, but i would have to say Foo Fighters

Alex: Got to be Muse for me

Pete: Rush for myself!

Stephen: Queens of the Stone Age

5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?

Paul: I would have to say Dave Grohl, the man is a genius at everything he does, of course that doesn’t make our songs incredible, but he is definitely someone i look up to!

6. Where was your last gig?

The last gig we played was at the garage main stage in Glasgow supporting Altered Sky which was one of the greatest shows we have done so far!

7. Where would you like to act?

As a band we would love to play the Barrowlands in Glasgow,  We have all been going to gigs at this venue for years...

 8. Whom would you like to feature with?

We are very open to play with absolutely anybody who would fit with our style or similar style.

9. Whom not?

We wouldn't say there is any particular band we wouldn't want to play with, the only bands we could imagine not playing with would probably be bands that are a completely different style from us, not because they are bad, just because it would be a mismatch in general.

10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?

One or two of us have suffered from stage fright in the past, we would say most people do at the start, unless you're not human. In terms of any hints or tips for any beginners we would say just keep practicing and working hard on whatever instrument you play and also with the band, it will be hard at the start but the more you play the more you will ease into it and enjoy every single minute you spend on that stage!

11. What bands have inspired you the most?

For each member in the band, it ranges from different styles to very similar which gives us a wide range of diversity when writing the songs, we would say some of the bands that have inspired us would be Foo fighters, Muse, Rush, Queens of the stone age, nirvana. The list could go on and on from loads of different styles but we will save you the headache! But these are the main ones in our opinion.

12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?

Honestly, we aren't sure, probably when a fan first asked us to sign something for them, it's a good feeling but it was a seemingly unfamiliar experience for us at the time which was a great confidence boost for the band aswell!

13. What do you think of your fans?

We love our fans, the fact that they can come out to our gigs and spare the time to support us is one of the best feelings of being in a band, we do what we do to entertain anyone who comes out to see us may it be for the first time or the 10th, we give 100% either way. So we highly appreciate everyone that supports us and hope they continue to do so into the future!

14. What do you think of our site?

We think the site is great! Very accessible and user friendly with some good material!

15. Something to add?

As a band we wanted to encourage any bands just starting out and getting into the music industry to keep working hard and giving it their all at gigs, also to keep playing and playing and get as many gigs as they possibly can. It's extremely hard to get out there and get yourself known but keep close with the contacts you made and as a band be as open minded as possible, be professional about every decision you make, but overall, go out and enjoy every moment of playing and doing what you love, it will be worth it in the end.
