News: PALLBEARER PREMIERE “THORNS” FROM THEIR NEW ALBUM 'HEARTLESS'
While they prepare for the release of their third LP Heartless, progressive doom giants Pallbearer have unveiled the album’s first single, “Thorns;” listen to the song along with a new interview with bassist Joseph D. Rowland on Rolling Stone and pre-order Heartless here.
As evidenced by this new song, Pallbearer have fused their widest musical palette to date and make the kind of heavy rock that will appeal to diehards, but could also find the group crossing over into newer territories. The band offers a complex sonic architecture on Heartless that weaves together the spacious exploratory elements of classic prog, the raw anthemics of 90’s alt-rock, and stretches of black-lit proto-metal. Lyrics about mortality, life, and love are set to sharp melodies and pristine three-part harmonies.
Recorded on analog tape at Fellowship Hall Sound in their hometown of Little Rock and mixed by Joe Barresi (Queens of the Stone Age, Tool, Melvins, Soundgarden), Heartless is grander in scope than anything Pallbearer have released prior, showcasing a natural progression that melds higher technicality and more ambitious structures with their most immediate hooks to date.
Look for this 7-song collection of monumental rock music to be released via Profound Lore in North America (in Europe from Nuclear Blast Entertainment) on March 24th, 2017 and see Pallbearer on tour in support of Heartless in February and March (dates below).
