News: STOLAS PREMIERES NEW SONG "DAMAGE DIVISION"
Stolas has released "Damage Division" - another new song from their upcoming self-titled, third full-length that will be out on March 17 via Equal Vision Records. The song is available now at Youtube.com/equalvision and on digital retailers and streaming services.
"We demoed this song out early into 2016, but it didn't quite land the way we wanted. So, after a week of tightening up parts to no avail, we decided to start from scratch and rewrite the whole thing," reveals bassist RJ Reynolds. "Unknown to us at the time, that approach was actually representative of our process for this album: constantly taking what we were doing and making it more hard-hitting and honest. As our good friend [and producer] Mike Watts likes to say, 'If it ain't broken, break it so we can fix it.'"
"Damage Division" follows the release of an intensely unsettling video for the track "Bellwether", which can be seen HERE.
Pre-order options for Stolas are available now at stolas.merchnow.com. Vinyl for the release includes a limited edition, exclusive run of pink vinyl with special silkscreened artwork (limited to 150; SOLD OUT), a limited run of blue/green splatter (limited to 150), and a standard pink variant (limited to 200). All pre-order options include instant mp3 downloads of "Bellwether" and "Damage Division".
Stolas was recorded with producer Mike Watts (Glassjaw, The Dear Hunter, Hopesfall), and explores lyrical concepts of addiction, corruption, greed, anxiety, and multiverse theories. The new album is the first of the band’s discography to feature lead vocals from drummer Carlo Marquez; And follows the release of two full-length albums on Blue Swan Records: Allomaternal (2014) and Living Creatures (2013).
The Las Vegas, NV-based progressive-rock outfit recently announced a full US headliner tour that will kick off on March 11 in Las Vegas. The tour will also include support from Mylets and Icarus The Owl. All upcoming dates can be found below.
Stolas is comprised of Carlo Marquez (lead vocals/drums), RJ Reynolds (bass), and Sergio Medina (guitar/vocals). The band will also feature additional live performance/touring members at the upcoming shows.
