News: THE PARALLAX METHOD ACCLAIMED PROG ROCK UNIT’S NEW EP!

Formed from the ashes of hard rock band Isolysis, The Parallax Method officially began life in 2014 with old friends Danny Beardsley (Guitars), Dave Wright (Drums) and original Bass player, Daniel Hayes. In the Summer of 2015, Hayes departed and was swiftly replaced by Ben Edis (Spirytus/Breed77). With varied influences between them, and a mutual love for modern prog acts such as Between The Buried And Me, Tesseract and Karnivool, it was all but inevitable that the trio would start crafting music with this style in mind. The band can claim true pedigree status, as cumulatively they have over 30 years’ experience touring nationwide, as well as appearances at some of the most prestigious festivals including Download, Bloodstock, UK Tech Fest, YNOT Festival, Hammerfest, Hard Rock Hell, Nottingham’s own Macmillan Fest and the HRH Road Trip Festival in Ibiza. Their musical endeavours have harvested prominent exposure from the likes of Scuzz TV, Classic Rock Magazine, Prog Magazine, Kerrang, Metal Hammer, Team Rock Radio and Planet Rock. 

The Parallax Method have been steadily picking up pace in their own right. The trio released their debut concept EP The Owl, to a glut of praise. Prog Magazine hailed the record as: “A bold and groovy EP. This accomplished debut is the work of experienced, talented musicians”, where MOSH stated that "The song- writing itself is where the true mastery lies within this release, Simplicity without feeling mundane, elegance without self-indulgence, skill without boasting". The band have also played a string of highly successful shows and festivals, adding even further weight to their ever-growing cause.

The three-some ride again with the release of their new concept EP The Squid, which follows on from their first EP. The record embodies five cuts of modern prog underpinned by strong classic rock tones. With earnest song-writing, a tinge of humour and potent melodic overtones throughout, this crew’s new EP is sure to attract Prog and Classic Rock fans alike.
