News: STREAM MUTOID MAN'S BOISTEROUS SOPHOMORE ALBUM ‘WAR MOANS’
The charismatic power trio Mutoid Man are now streaming their latest offering War Moans. Ambitiously arranged and loaded with hard rock swagger, there’s no sophomore slump to be heard of. Stream the album in full today via Noisey.
Mutoid Man sets a precedent of divine instrumentation and unholy riffs on War Moans, yielding an album of ridiculously savage hooks and next-level dexterity. With no riff deemed too extreme and no drum pattern considered too absurd (see album singles "Melt Your Mind" and "Kiss Of Death”), War Moans finds Mutoid Man in the throes of their love for frenzied, elemental rock ’n roll. It’s not all power chords and, though—album closer “Bandages” boasts Mr Big-style rock balladry and features vocals and auxiliary instrumentation by label mates Chelsea Wolfe and her longtime collaborator Ben Chisholm.
In celebration of the release of War Moans, Mutoid Man will be hitting the road alongside Sargent House label mates Helms Alee throughout June and July. Since their inception, Mutoid Man’s live shows have been exercises in showmanship, with the requisite headbanger gymnastics morphing into Van Halen-esque panache and hardcore-basement-show prankery—a can’t-miss show of the summer.
