News: Heavy New Leeds Quartet Are Here To Tell You A Story, Stream Debut Single ‘Victoria’ Now
“We have a past, we have made mistakes. This is the story, this is Teller.” These are the bold first words from Leeds newcomers Teller, an act who describe themselves as “rising from the ashes of a past project” in order to take “our experiences, our mistakes and hone in on a sound and message that best describes us as musicians.”
Following it’s premiere on Alex Baker's Fresh Blood Show on Kerrang! Radio, the band have unveiled their debut single ‘Victoria’ here. Recorded with their good friend Adam “Nolly” Getgood (Architects, Periphery, Sikth) at Middle Farm Studios, the band describe it as “the perfect song to make our debut. We feel it introduces and demonstrates the band’s intense, energetic sound, coupled with strong melodic hooks.” With notable lyrics including “We’re on the same path just different sides / It’s just a matter of time till they collide”, the track discusses love and pain, retrospectively looking at what could have been.
‘Victoria’ may be the first track to see the light of day, but it is not all the band, comprised of Robin Adams (vocals), Jake Fogarty (drums), Cory Young (bass) and Alex Mauric (guitar), have in their arsenal. Taking influence from artists as varied as Neck Deep, Architects and Issues, they reveal that “every song is story about a particular aspect of life, from love to struggles with our metal state of being. Each is a story unto itself.” As they step out in to the world as Teller, the quartet are keen to demonstrate that
“we are an audible force to be reckoned with. This is our passion and our chance to reevaluate and explore what we can do as musicians.”
