Interviews: PERCEPTION
In this new occasion we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore band PERCEPTION, from UK. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
It was a bit of a cop-out name that we came up with as teenagers. Unfortunately, it doesn’t mean anything. We hope people think it’s really deep and meaningful.
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
It’s a genre that we’re all fond of. The music is fun to play, it’s expressive, and gives off so much energy.
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Will, Paddy and Harper all knew each other from school. We met Ben at a gig in our local youth club while he was still with his old band.
4. Each band member favourite band?
Paddy: Thrice
Al: no favourites at the moment
Ben: Oasis
Will: Architects
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
A lot of our most recent material is inspired by events in our personal lives. Some has come from our views on the world in a broader sense. Not a lot of it is positive, but our music is proving to be a good tool for sharing and expressing these things in a constructive way.
6. Where was your last gig?
Our last gig was Techabilitation, at The New Cross Inn, London.
7. Where would you like to act?
We’d like to play Tech-Fest, 2000 Trees and even Download and Reading/Leeds (we can dream)! We’d like to venture to Europe soon if we can.
8. Who would you like to play with?
UnderOath, Architects, Northlane to name a few.
9. Who not?
Anyone who’s been on X Factor.
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
We’ve all been nervous, especially in the first year or two of playing shows. Our tips would be; practice hard, rehearse together frequently and get your live setup (i.e. your gear) sounding good. That’ll help you feel confident, and will help the audience enjoy your set!
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Architects, in terms of their commitment, their work ethic and their values as well as their music. They deserve everything good that comes to them and they inspire us.
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
Will once had a guy ask for a selfie with him. Will took it on his own phone as the guy's phone had run out of battery. He then left without getting the picture of Will.
13. What do you think of your fans?
Naturally we think they’re awesome! We’d also like them to get in touch, so we know if we actually have any?!
14. What do you think of our site?
The site is cool, you’re doing a great job!
