Interviews: I, The Creator
In this new occasion we have had the opportunity to interview the Metalcore band I The Creator from Brazil. Check out this band and give them a like on their FACEBOOK PAGE.
1.Where did you get the idea for the band name, you planned it or came out just like that?
“I,The Creator” because we have the ability to create something to ourselves, many times we create a lot good things, sometimes not so good! When we were thinking about the name, Felipe put “I, The Creator” from “Monuments” and a friend said " That name was good for you guys!”
So we decided the name od the band!
2.Why did you want to play this genre?
Metalcore is the genre closest to the New-Metal bulk of Member listened ... Now the Djent was what differentiated the metalcore band, a broken sound, with against time, but still with the clean vocals and breakdowns. When I (MONETTI) started playing drums because of KORN, which I was listening to my father, but when we discovered "killswitch Engage" that was totally unlike anything we had heard. now the Djent was "MUSICAL EVOLUTION" was a sound that pleased me completely, since the guitars until the clean vocals
3. Did you know each other before the band was formed?
Yes, I (monetti) played with Douglas Franciskini and Felipe Hito in another band called "FALSE ASTRONOMY"
Gabriel Pulzi was just our friend and attempts to find a bassist were really bad, I (Monetti) I decided to take a chance and call him to see if worked him join the band, beginning the (felipe hito) did not approve the idea, but in the end it all worked out. ..
Filipe Ribeiro already entered in the place of our first guitarist, who was with some difficulty to accompany the band, although he (Filipe) had already played for a short period in "FALSE ASTRONOMY" and when we need a guitarist He was one of the first people that we thought, when he agreed to play with us again, it was a big relief.
Of course to start creating new things, it wasn't easy, but when our last work was recorded and all ready, we saw that the ideas are not that different, just like any other band, I believe that it is only used to create new things with new people!
4. Each band member favourite band?
Filipe Ribeiro: Architects
Gabriel Pulzi: Northlane
Douglas Franciskini: Novelists
Felipe Hito: In Hearts Wake
Monetti: Tesseract/ Periphery
5. Who or what inspires you to write songs?
the inspirations come from our days, they're just reflections about our lifes, dificults, happyness, many things... sometimes good sometimes not so good, and we do our job, talk about that.
6. Where was your last gig?
Well, our last show was in Rio de Janeiro, we played in the brutal scene... Although it was not a full show, nowadays the underground movement here in Brazil is very weak, sometimes we as a band pay attention and we see that many people prefer to stay at home and watch a show record and released on YouTube, than go buy a ticket and go in Fes T with 10 band, this is very unfortunate for the bands here in Brazil...
7. Where would you like to act?
I believe the whole band has the dream of going to play in Europe, United States on the Vans Warped Tour, and in Australia at UNIFY, which for us would be a huge realization, even by that much of the bands that inspired us to play are from there , that would be wonderful.
8. Whom would you like to feature with?
I guess, Winston McCall from Parkway Drive will be a nice feature, Adrian Fitipaldes (EX- Northlane) that will be a nice feature… Or a instrumental feature with Misha Mansoor from Pariphery… we have many probability, to do a feat in the future.
9. Whom not?
That’s a pretty tough question HAHAHAHAHA, with bands we don’t like…
10. Any of you has ever suffered from stage fright? Any tip for beginners on how to beat that?
Stage fright will always exist, I think that the head of the musician always has that "there's someone judging me, and see my mistakes"
And that's what I read once a lead singer of a band too big "as long as you're afraid of the stage play, when he finish the love for all that excitement is over!" now to overcome it, that's a tough one, well I think you never get over it, but ends up getting used with the butterflies in your stomach before going to play in every show.
There's no way you can talk to who overcame, by dealing with the public in a city is totally different from the public of another city, then I think you really get used with the butterflies.
11. What bands have inspired you the most?
Northlane, Architects, Invent Animate, Fit For a King, Polaris, Parkway Drive
12. What's the weirdest thing a fan has ever asked you for?
The weirdest thing that happened to me was a guy come and ask me to list with the name of the staff was at our show, it was really weird, I was just kind of don't understand anything, but in the end I gave the guy list
13. What do you think of your fans?
They are amazing, even though we are a relatively small band, the shows are always full and seeing everyone singing and understanding our message, is really rewarding.
14. What do you think of our site?
Your initiative, it was a good idea, to take bands from one place in one country to another, that helps a lot, continue your work, congratulations on the site!
You're doing what the world Underground needs!
15. Something to add?
